Injury update......

Taken from CB......Conflicting news, good and bad....depending on your take......
Doc: KG will not play at all this week, including Sunday's tilt in Cleveland, but he will travel with the team.
Healing up: Doc says that he hopes to practice his entire team next week on the road, including Powe and possibly Scalabrine.
I tend to see the good in this and would rather wait to have them all back and could care less about the Cleveland game....but that's me....what's your take.

This is BS. The celtics need to come out and say that KG will hopefully be back for the play-offs. Every week they keep pushing his return up further and further which tells me KG's knee is worse off than the celtics are letting on.

I hate to be a downer but when was the last time we have some good news regarding KG? Next thing we will hear is that he is shut down for the postseason, knock on wood.

KG is not playing again in the regular season. We will hear about that next week. IF he does not play in the 1st round we will not hear about than until about 2 days before the play-offs start.
KG has played a total of 32 minutes in well over a month and his knee is still bothering him. That is cause for concern no matter how you look at it. Plus there is only so many times the Celtics can keep pushing back his return before people start to wonder if we will not see KG until November.

KG and Rondo shouldn't play until the playoffs.

sounds almost like they are conceding the Cavs game on Easter. I dunno, I would think if the Celts could pull out a win in Cleveland that would shake the Crabaliers confidence big time. On the other hand maybe they dont want to bring back a rusty KG in what would be considered such a huge game. We did beat the Cavs with no Garnett the last time after all...

It's sounding more and more like KG will need to have the knee scoped after the season. If that is the case, I'm not sure there is much value in the Celtics playing him before they absolutely have to.

So just as I thought Mr.Nabobofnegativity you just could not find a spec of positive thought in Powe returning or Scal coming back to the team.......sadly I was right.....

KG will return too.....when he is healthy, until then the team will carry on.

Yes and the Celtics championship hopes rest on KG coming back not scrubs such as Powe and Scal.
Celtics can win the title without Scal and Powe playing another minute this season. They cannot win a title if KG is not 100%.

I think the Cavs game is huge. They still havent clinched homecourt yet, have they? I know we won't catch them, but if we beat them again and pull even closer in the standings, it might have some kind of psychological edge in our favor, BUT saving KG is the most important thing. However, if the team is just resting him until the playoffs and he's 100% then I think all this is stupid. The only acceptable reason for shutting him down like he's been is IF he really is injured bad. I hope not and if he is, then I hope he gets fast asap. WE MISS YOU KG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kevin Garnett returned to the court briefly yesterday, displaying encouraging signs in his recovery from a right knee strain, and will join the team for visits to Cleveland Sunday and Philadelphia next Tuesday. Though Garnett will not likely play against the Cavaliers, he will attempt to practice with the Celtics after that game.
The goal for Garnett is to participate in a team shootaround next Tuesday in Philadelphia. No determination has been made about Garnett performing against the Sixers that night or in the season finale the next night against Washington in Boston.
Leon Powe (right knee) and Brian Scalabrine (concussion) also attended practice and are scheduled to travel.
"Leon is moving pretty good," Rivers said. "Our goal is, hopefully, to get him to play the last game of the year, maybe. That would be a pleasant surprise but that looks like the way it's going to happen."
Garnett during a Comcast interview: "Any time you've been out with an injury for a while, at least for me, it's difficult. I want to help the guys and bring a sense of energy. When you're out, you see your value and I'm just looking to bring that value back. I'm excited about the opportunity to repeat. When I look at it, it's something that looks so far-fetched, so hard. But, at the same time, I see what kind of team we have and, even though we've lost guys like Sam [ Cassell] and Pose [James Posey] and P.J. [ Brown], we are a better group, if you can believe that or not."

Just shut down KG for the rest of the regular season. I want 100% for the playoffs.
This BS about coming back to play the last 4 regular season games must end!

This might be the end of the road for KG, we could start seeing a slow decline in his game. We new this was a possability when we went the vet route.

Scalabrine takes the floor
In what apparently was a surprise to the coaches as well as the player, Brian Scalabrine was cleared by Dr. Robert Cantu to run through non-contact skeleton drills with the team this morning.
Though it’s still unclear when the Celtics forward will be able to take part in regular scrimmaging, his progress in recovery from post-concussion syndrome is apparently on the right track.
Scalabrine said after the practice that he hasn’t had any symptoms - the headaches and blurriness that got in the way in the past - for eight days.

I think the thing with KG is that if he is going to have to play in pain it will be in the playoffs. If could go out there and be pain free and the same the next day then he will play but till then they are going to buy as much time as possible. It is also forcing other guys to step up their game and they may not want BBD, Moore, or Perk kind of shutting it down a little just before the playoffs. They are getting it done keep feeding 'em.
That CLE game matters only in the win/loss column against the Magic. We can't catch them, if we win they can blow it off compared to finishing #1 overall, it is all in the fans heads.

I haven't really read some of the posts in this thread, but this could be signifigant.
At my AAU Tournament this last weekend i got to meet Danny Ainge, i asked him two questions:
1) Will KG be truly ready for the playoffs?
2) If Scal was his favorite player?
He said he wasn't sure about KG, but on a bright note scal is here to stay because scal is Danny's "Boy"
