How to beat Cleveland in the playoffs ?

What can we do to beat this team in the playoffs, in their own arena. Seems like, nothing has worked ?

Why are they so good ? What makes them so good. Every team is beatable, you just have to find a way how to beat that team, like many other teams that have figured out how not to win against us, but how to blow us away too.

Do you double LBJ ? put 2-3 men on him and make other players beat you ?

You know what folks, ITS JUST HARD TO BELIEVE, THAT WITH 3 HALL OF FAMERS, WE CAN'T BEAT THESE CLOWNS...i mean 3 HALL OF FAMERS. The best shooter in the history of this game, probably the best power-forward that ever played the game, and probably the 4th best small forward Paul Pierce in the league after Bron/Kobe/Wade.

Their bigs are just so damn strong. Big Z looks like he's 9 feet tall, Anderson Varejao is just one bad mothafooker who doesn't even get hurt after being elbowed by Jesus Shuttlesworth in his nuts.

There would be NOTHING more exciting in my life now, than watching us eliminate Cavs from the playoffs and ending their championship hopes. I don't hate them like the Lakers, but I just want to beat them. Cavs are scary strong and such a good team.

HOME COURT adv. or not with 3 HOF'ers we should be able to beat them.

We can beat them by scoring more points than them in 4 of the 7 games...

Wallace is still out? I like Celtics chances better with our frontline, KG, Powe and probably Scal will be back for the series with Cavs (I dont think Magic will stop Cs). All Celtics have to do, is to win all at home (doable), and one match away (also doable), so nothing is lost, as long as Celtics are relatively healthy.

Tell you the truth, I don't even care if we face cleveland, I would love to see them cavs lose in the first round. Won't happen, but it would be hilarious

The key to beating them is scoring in the paint. We need all of our bigs healthy and catching the ball in the post. And we need Rondo taking it to the hoop.

Yep. And someone needs to knock some of them down a bit to send a **** message...I'd love to see someone knock Varajackass' teeth out, and to rough up Mo "creaming my shorts over a regular season game" Williams a bit...not hurt him, but knock him down once and a while...

Exactly how we did last year. Keep LBJ out of the paint to the best of the defense's abilities and forcing him to either pass it to the other guys or by making him a jumpshooter. Rondo is just going to have to stay in Mo Will's shirt.

I hope the offense can get it going again because that starting unit was unstoppable on offense before KG went down. It's harder to get stops when you are missing and the other team is pressing down your backs with every rebound.

I personally think making the game as physical as possible can work, but thats not really our style. Also Rondo really needs to win his matchup with Mo williams. He can't have his disappearing acts on us this year.

Cleveland has maybe 2 position advantages on you.

C and SF.

Lebron > Pierce.
Z > Perk

But, KG > Cleveland. Haha. You guys will get past them easy. You'll beat them at their own game. Defensive intensity.

Plus you have Ray who's a clutch shooter, and Rondo who's going to Contain Maurice Williams

No way is Z better than Perk unless you prefer a center that can't play D and who has no post offense and gets all his points 20 feet from the basket.

If Z is hitting his jumpers, he's tough. If he's not, he's ass-trash.

LeBron is better than Pierce, but it's not the huge amount most people make it out to be...

It's like this:

Williams > Rondo
LeBron > Pierce
Z > Perk
Varejao < KG
West < Allen

we have to be AGGRESSIVE and not Passive--like we were yesterday....that's the REAL key.

I don't know if anything from yesterday's game will repeat in the playoffs. When we've beat Cleveland this year, we've done it inside the paint.

Yesterday Perk did pretty well inside, Big Baby decided he wanted to be a jump shooter, and our third big was Mikki 'I refuse to shoot' Moore. Because of questionable foul trouble on all of those guys, we then went with Bill Walker as a 4 in spurts, and even a lineup with Pierce playing PF. That is not going to happen in the playoffs with Leon, KG, and maybe even Scal back. Don't forget that Big Baby was the 4th option to start at PF. We had to burn through KG, Scal, and Leon for him to get a chance to start.

As far as other guys scoring inside, Pierce tried by couldn't get a foul call or make a layup, and I thought Tony did a good job, but the Cavs got bailed out with some questionable offensive foul calls.

The other thing I noticed, which is a positive is that Tony Allen did a good job on Lebron. He was strong enough to get Lebron from posting him up, and stuck to him like glue. Lebron hit 2 ridiculous fade away 3 pointers with Tony right in his face, but in general you want Lebron to take high difficulty shots like that. They also called Tony for 2 touch fouls when he was just doing solid ball denial, and I guess NBA refs won't allow that with Lebron with Cleveland, so we'll need to make an adjustment because of the refs...
