KG is headed back to Boston. About a few weeks ago, Doc stated that he expects KG to play in the Philly game. He said if he doesn't look good in practice, we'll send him back to Boston. Well, KG is headed back to Boston.
http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/bask ... on_return/The Celtics are keeping this a secret. Or they don't know themselves. They are also contradicting themselves as well. First Doc says that it would benefit KG to play the last few games. Now he comes out and says that there is no benefit in KG playing today or the last game???? Hum.
Also Ainge and Doc are not on the same page either when it comes to KG's knee issue. Here is what Ainge said about KG's availability for the Philly game today:
“Could Kevin play right now?” Ainge said of tonight’s game against Philadelphia and tomorrow’s season finale against Washington. “Absolutely. Here is what Doc said about if KG could play today if he had to:
If tonight was a big game, could he play? We don’t know.”It's kinda of becoming like a soap opera. I wish KG the best and hope he can play and play well in the playoffs.

I have been saying all along that KG's knee is worse than the celtics are letting on. KG has played less than 50 minutes in two months and he knee is still not better. Can we all agree at this point it is much worse than just a strain? I am thinking that he has some sort of tear in his knee which will require some sort of surgery.
"Kevin Garnett’s availability for the Celtics [team stats]’ playoff opener will very much be up to Kevin Garnett as well as the team’s medical staff, Celtics executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said today.
“When Kevin plays is his decision,” Ainge said. “But I think Kevin plays once the playoffs start. Ultimately, it’s just his decision.”
Wait until Thursday or Friday because that is when they are going to come out and say KG will not be able to play in the first round of the play-offs.

Yea I hate to say it but I agree with Joebiscuit. This injury was supposedly fairly minro and he's missed about the last quarter of the season.

Again look at how it happened.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVu41PubfZ4He is more likely to tear something than straining something by jumping. KG's knee had not been right for a while before that and I believe at this point when he jumped he tore something.
In my mind the Celtics are pretty much insulting the intelligence of their fans at this point. No one in their right mind believes this is just a stain. If you do you are in complete denial.

He'll be fine in the playoffs...but what's the point in even worrying if he plays or not? According to most here, we can't beat the Cavs regardless...so who cares....

he was going to play these games if they meant anything, we have the 2 seed wrapped up, why risk it in meaningless games?

Then how do you know......just asking........it's no secret what's going on....it's a meaningless game now. As long as he makes a practice he's ok, there's no need to risk a game injury vs a team you might meet in a day or two.

The bigger question for me is how did he get to Boston..........did he fly back ?
I ask that because with a sprain or a swelling flying is not done.....KG made the trip to Cleveland as did Powe by plane because flying would not make the knee problem worse. So that's why I ask the question.
Train trip from Philly to Boston or by plane, that is the question.

ps......seems from what I see.....KG went from Cleveland to Boston so I will assume he flew and didn't go to Philly....I would think he is ok to fly. They (Ainge and Doc) are being careful and I take them at their word. Why would you not.

He walked back. So now we can stop worrying about his knee.

it's not like he was going to play in any of these games so what's the point in him traveling?

I guess the fact of HOW the knee injury happened, coupled with all of this back and forth, is beginning to worry me slightly...
