Official thread for our first round series, I would have much rather played the sixers but oh well, Celtics in 5 if we have kg, in 6 if we don't, Gorden and Salmons go off in game 3 and we lose that one, rebound to win the last 2.

Bulls are a solid team, they have 4 guys who could potentially really hurt as any given game, Gorden, Salmons, Rose and Deng. However most of the team is short on playoff expieriance and while they will make 4 of the 5 games close well finish better.

if the celtics cant get past them, then they dont deserve to win.

but they shouldnt have any real problems against them, with our without KG

Deng won't be playing due to a stress fracture. He's been out for weeks now.

Bulls look like this:
PG: Rose
SG: Gordon
SF: Salmons
PF: Tyrus
C: Noah

Bench: Brad Miller, Kirk Hinrich, Tim Thomas, Linton Johnson

Chicago fan here. Checkin in to say good luck to boston. You guys are still a HUGE threat to win the title.

My prediction is Boston in 5. Boston would sweep this series with a 100% KG though.

Yeah Deng has been out for a while.

If KG is healthy, you guys sweep us.
If KG isn't 100%, you guys beat us in 7 games.

If Garnett is on the court, Bulls are mince meat.

As we believe in winning the championship, we shouldn't care about who we face. Boston or Philadelphia doesn't really matter for us. We just have to win four games against them and we should be able to do so. But I would've preferred Orlando facing the Bulls, as I think that this would have been a longer series than Magic/Sixers. Anyway. I'm excited that the playoffs will begin in two days. Have fun everyone

If I were a Celtics fan, I think I'm worried more about how KG looks in the first round than the Bulls. Because that seems like the key to being able to win another title.

Bulls have to gain a ton of confidence fast in this series to even be competitive. Maybe they should look at the Atlanta series last year for inspiration.

I expect to win in 5. With or without KG. CHI has some nice offensive player but they are horrible defensively...

I would prefer PHI because, IMO, they are one of the worst teams to ever make the playoffs. CHI is better but there is no question here that we are a much better team!

Ugh. Game 4 starts at 1 PM? Great for me sitting in Europe, but if I'd bet on this I would say this might go to the Bulls.

4-1 is a good bet anyway. As a Boston fan I'd be happy with this outcome as well.

No first round surprises this time around, Celtics in 5 with KG playin 20 minutes a game

I don't see the Celtics having a problem here, although I do think the Bulls matchup better with the C's then the Sixers did.

I say C's in 5, but I'm not taking Chicago lightly...they are a good team!

If the Cs had to rank what team they would most likely want to face in the first round my guess would have been Piston, 76ers and then the Bulls. The Bulls match-up nice vs. the Cs. Their style of play is like the Hawks last season. The two guys I worry the most about hurting the Cs is Brady Miller and Derrick Rose. By the looks and sound of the Cs don't know what they will get from KG. That to me is a concern.

Good luck guys. As Bulls fan I really want to win. But the outcome I see happening is Celtics in 6.

C'mon, did all you Bulls fans make a concerted effort to come over here and jinx us ? Good luck to the Bulls, I think getting Salmons and Brad Miller was a great move over a full season will start to pay dividends.

without Garnett this will be a struggle. I think we can win a round without him but not 2 or 3 and certainly not a title. Is there anyone out there in Celtic land who is confident that a) KG will play and b) he'll be effective? I'm not. I wish I could say I was optimistic but unless something changes dramatically on the Garnett front we're not going anywhere in the post season. We might limp our way to the ECF and that would be a hell of an accomplishment but that's where the raod ends.

Let's just wait until game 1 on Saturday before we start hyperventilating, shall we?
