What We Know / What We Don't Know

What We know, heading into the playoffs:

We are a huge underdog now. That status will be applied to us as soon as the 2nd round begins. Orlando is 2-0 against us without Kevin. Still, I'm positive we can take them. Not just becasue they don't have Hido but mostly due to the fact that...

Leon Powe is back and has not missed a beat. Only two games in and he looks like the old Leon. The guy never ceases to amaze me. If he ever develops a 12 foot jumper he'll be scary. A strong playoff showing from him is an absolute must for the team. Can't wait for a good beatdown of Varejao.

Eddie and Ray need to be on for us to win. We've lost games when their shooting was either just off or they were aggressively shadowed by the opposing teams. They're our bailout guys and we just can't seem to get separation without these two.

Big Baby has turned into a hell of a bench player. That PJ-style jumper is now dependable, he's been much better at fighting for rebounds, added a nifty baby hook, is playing with more confidence and hustles as much as anyone. I went from disliking the guy to being a big fan in a matter of 3 months.

Tony Allen's back and he will be needed to penetrate, defend and provide relief for the big two. He'll not be needed for bouncing the ball of his foot when daydreaming while dribbling.

Steph has been solid. A disappointment on the scoring end but he hasn't been forcing bad shots, his instincts are not lost and he has a great knack for finding the open man. Did you realize he's 19th on the NBA all-time assists list? I didn't. Just moved ahead of Tiny. He can be of great help. Sad he never got to be on the court with KG and still may never again.

Mikki Moore is not a good player. Mental mistakes galore, slippery hands, no nose for the ball. Excellent dunker with no one within 5 feet of him. Seems like a real nice guy but I hope he doesn't get more than 5 minutes per game in the playoffs. Problem is, without KG playing, he will. Gotta keep reminding myself - he's still better than POB...

Rondo better be consistent. He needs to outplay Rose, Rafer and Mo if we're to have a chance. Also, TV announcers must be able to pronounce Rondo's name correctly in order for them to get respect. If you can say Raja Bell you should be able to say Rajon Rondo. For the last time, it's not Ray-jon.

What We Don't Know:

Are we tough enough without KG? Will our D hold up? Will Kevin be on the bench spurring players on, cheerleading and assistant coaching? Did Doc just leave the door open? Will KG be back in time for the 2nd round or ECF? Are the Celtics being intentionally coy, preferring the underdog position? Will there be a Willis Reed moment? Am I starting to sound like the closing of 70's sitcom "Soap"? These and more questions will be answered soon.

GO CELTICS!

Orlando is still a pretender...if they make it to the ECF it will be a HUGE upset...
