Would confusing opponents about KG's availability matter?

On the one hand, this isn't football, with detailed opponent-specific preparations.

On the other hand, one player has a lot more impact on a basketball team -- where he can easily play 15%+ of the available minutes (if healthy) -- than on a football team, when he can't consume more than 5% or so.

So how useful would it be to, for example, cause opposing teams to assume KG might still come back, when the Cs are dead-certain he in fact won't?

Maybe. They should dress KG for the next game and just sit him at the end of the bench. Is this allowed?

Every 6 or 7 minutes, have KG rip off his warmups and walk towards the scorer's table, only to turn around before he gets there.

That's not a very well-reasoned answer.

You don't know the psychological battle that is the NBA playoffs. Coaches are chessmasters and injured players are knights. Used effectively they can win you a game. Use them wrong and you just move the little **** around the board in an L-shaped pattern. And then you end up coaching some team in the Sun Belt conference.

If watching the WWF as a child has taught me anything, and it has, its that KG is going to make a last second comeback and deliver a rock bottom to Lebron James.

The coaching staffs of teams deal with the players that they face on the court. Can we give the KG thing a rest. Everyone knew he wasn'tt coming back this year. KG took a month off to rest his knee. He came and and played like minutes 60 in 4 games and the knee was still bothering him.

It was obvious that the rest didn't help him. It was obvious that another 3 weeks of rest wasn't going to help much. Every one of KG's returns were delayed. That should have told people that the knee still wasn't right. The coaches of other teams knew this. The Celtic organization also knew this. Rondo was even qouted as saying that this could be career ending. (I'm sure he meant if KG rushed back). A lot of Celtic fans also knew this but were hoping of a return.

Bottom line is opposing coaches coach game by game. They get their info from a lot of sources and adjust to that. The only ones confused about KG's injury were Celtic fans.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China. That's 2 different things. Willis Reed didn't miss two months and come back during a game.

That would be freaking hilarious. I'm sure he's healthy enough to at least do the hoo-rah headbang to get everyone pumped up.

I wish this to happen as well, this way the Lakers and Celtics can battle with both teams being healthy.

Don't forget when 'Trader' Danny Ainge - who hasn't been seen or heard from since his "hart attack" appears in the dressing room runway, just as PP steps to the foul line to win the game - PP catches DA out of the corner of his eye, they have a moment from across the arena, he takes a deep breath and sinks the shot to win the game!

It couldn't have happened any other way.

Delivering a rock bottom seems like it could be a problem with KG's injury, but he's not too injured to stuff a blackjack down his shorts and club Lebron in the back of the head when the time comes.
