Chicago doesn't scare me one bit ..

Post#1 » by DieselCeltic » Tue Apr 21, 2009 2:28 pm

Yes, they beat us at home 1 game and even then we had a chance to win it. We just took this team slightly but I'm not worried @ all, one bit. Our leader on the floor is Kendrick Perkins right now. Sure, Ray Allen hits clutch shots and wins games, sure Rondo is the key on this team but man Perkins is something else. The enforcer and the defensive leader. Perk can play against the best true Centers and still dominate.

Rose will never have a game like that against us I guarantee you that. This is the quote coming straight out from Perks mouth. And Ben Gordon will never have a game like that against us, I NOW PROMISE YOU THAT.

Once, we go to Chicago and go 2-0, we'll come back home and destroy these red clowns.

The real worry is Cleveland and Orlando. Only those 2 teams.

They should scare you. They have 3 big time scorers in their starting 5. Our team can no longer defend without Garnett and Posey. They just might blow us out in game 3 - I really hope the team gets out of its funk but it is likely that the team has been playing way over its capability without KG. This series reminds me a lot of the Celtics - Pacers series in Doc's second season as coach. That team was dead in the water until a trading deadline trade brought another veteran scorer and challenged a preseason favorite to win the title. When Chicago added Salmons they became a very tough team to run with. They still play no defense but if we can't defend them..... we are going to have a hard time outscoring them.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

well I hope they scare our players. They're the ones that need to fight to win this series.

Then again it may be best to just lose and take the extra week or two of rest. We're going nowhere this season without KG at 100%.

Bulls fan here. I dont think your players are worried about the Bulls but i know they're taking them a whole lot more seriously now. These 2 games have given my Bulls a lot of confidence as well. They know they can definitely hang with this group and seeing that we've been crazy good at home lately, save for that last game stinker against Toronto, their confidence should be sky high. his series is going to be a battle.

This is just pointless. It really does not matter if any fan is scared of the Bulls. It is the players that count and in no way are they scared, nor over confident. They are going to be prepared and take the Bulls very seriously. It is the playoff and approaching it any other way will ensure a quick exit. The Cs are banged up and only running with a 3/4 full tank. It is going to affect them. Anyone who thought this would be an easy series is blind or not very smart.

I don't think either team is significantly more talented than the other at this point in time. The Orlando Magic and the Cleveland Cavs scare me, but this Bulls team has the ability to knock off the Celts minus KG, I think that has become fairly obvious, imo...

How can Bulls knock out Celtics. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen > the entire Bulls team. How can someone compare Rose to Rondo or Gordon to Ray Allen. Please let's see bulls team resume...o yea..none of them have a ring...OWNED.

When you mentioned Perkins in your OP, I hope you weren't referencing the Bulls' bigs. They're absolutely terrible... young, anxious, weak, etc. Its not much of a feat to beat up on them.

Injuries, players not playing to potential, some players playing out of their minds (no, not talking about BG and Rose, but Noah, Tyrus, Big Baby, Kendrick). Its happening to both teams, leave the excuses out of it now, Its been two games and all the cards are now on the table.

Can you guys hope for Paul Pierce to wake up, of course. Can we hope for Salmons, Hinrich, or someone else to drop 30, sure.

For Bulls fans to think Paul Pierce won't wake up, or Ray Allen to go back to a slump for the rest of the games...thats ridiculous. They'll do something.

Now for Celtic fans to think Rose won't respond, or BG won't have another offensive explosion, is also ridiculous. These guys have been doing it all season, much like the guys on your team have.

A better arguement would be, Tyrus won't block 7 shots every game, or that Noah won't grab 15 boards. Thats our weakness, not our guards.

Well, I don`t think CHI is scared of this celtics team either.

It is pretty obvious that we are a completely differen`t team without KG and now with possibly Leon, so bulls should be very confident about their chances at home.

Our defense is horrible, light years away form last season and CHI has a very good offensive team. At full strength we would be dominant but now anything can happen...If we don`t pick up our defense we won`t win in CHI, IMO...

I am not scared but I am definitely worried...

Magic are a different story. Their records speak for itself. I'm confident Magic will take care of business.

I actually think that we pose more of a threat than the Magic because of Orlando's complete inability to penetrate.

The Bulls aren't "scared" of the Celtics, they know they belong here and know they can hang with them, but that doesn't mean they're not taking them seriously. I'd suggest Boston does the same, if either team loses their edge this series will be over in a hurry.

OMG, for the record, I've take Wade over BG 1000212398 out of 1000212398.

Heh heh, I was laughing at that signature too, not to take away from Ben Gordon or anything.

For accuracy's sake, Hunter has a ring, which if I recall gives us the same amount of rings your team won with last year. And Rose to Rondo and Gordon to Allen aren't outrageous comparisons...

For reference, see the Miami series a few years back for defending champs losing when they get a big head. Most Celtic's fans are level headed (similarly, most Bulls fans are) and realize we're in for a hell of a series and I don't think there's a predictable outcome yet.

That Miami team was total **** compared to the Salvatore-era team that won it all. We were only 4 games off of last year's pace, record-wise...bad comparison, dude...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
