How many of you actually like your team?
Reading most of the threads over the last week or two it is hard to tell, 90% of them are negative it seems. A few of my thoughts:
1. We are still the defending champions. That means something.
2. We still have Pierce, Ray, Rondo. I like that as a trio.... a lot. Those three alone can win us games.
3. Injuries happen, yes we have had more than our fair share but the team just needs to deal with it. Adversity can be a galvanising force. Someone needs to step up, we have players who can do it.
4. I like our players. All of them. I don't hate them, none of them suck, none of them are just "contracts". They wear green, they play for the greatest basketball team in the history of the universe.
5. I believe we can get a bit of a roll on and make something happen. It wont be easy but we know what it takes, we did it 12 months ago. With some luck there is no reason we couldn't do it again. It might not be likely but I firmly believe anything is possible.

I think we have total chances of making ECF...winning it is out of my mind at the moment because we haven't been playing as well as the Cavs..but our roster is damn good. If Pierce gets it together, and everybody plays up to potential, we get to the ECF and give the Cavs a run for their money. If we don't, we get 18 next year anyways..so im not worried...

I like everyone on the team, besides Mikki. He just hasn't done anything to earn it yet.

Love 'em all, minus Mikki. I think it was a bad acquisition, though I don't blame Danny - sometimes things don't pan out. Great bunch of guys and despite the injuries, 1-6 still talented enough, and with enough character to have a chance against almost anyone.

I agree with this thread. A lot. Anyone who says our team, KG and Powe on the bench and all can not win a title is just wrong, and not a true fan. I'm not saying when I look at it objectively we are the favorites. But we are top 3 or 4 and in the playoffs it is anyones game.
It does really really suck that KG is out, but we are not out. There is a clear difference and I think the people who can't see it are just still in hysterics over KG being out.

This team won't give up, and I won't give up rooting for them. As for Mikki, I've got nothing against him personally but I think he'd be better suited to being a bench weight. Oh wait, he's too skinny to even get that right.

Re: How many of you actually like your team?
I still like 'em to get to the Eastern Conference Finals and even to beat Cleveland. The Cavs have not proven themselves to be a better team - at least not to me. Ray, Pierce and Rondo are all All-stars, even if Rondo hasn't gone yet. Perkins is SOLID and Big Baby is solid, too. Baby's progress this year as the third string replacment for Garnett has been eye opening. I went from "oh no" to thinking this guy could be another Karl Malone, someday. OK, well maybe that's going a bit far, but Baby has definitely got skills. No, it's not over. Paul Pierce is not shot. Ray has still got his shot. Rondo I wouldn't trade for any other point guard in the league, including C-Paul. Too bad Marbury wasn't with the team several months earlier, too. But we can still go all the way. I would love to see that punk Kobe sulking as the Lakers lose in 6 again.

Re: How many of you actually like your team?
Come on Brett, his question was how much you like the team. Not how much you like 4/20.
Btw, I hate everyone on this team except KG,Pierce, and Perk.

Seriously, if we can get by Chicago, I think we beat Orlando and have an excellent chance against Cleveland. To get past Chicago, the guys need to step it up defensively.
I'm no smokin the ganja either. Big Baby has really impressed me. Remember, he's only a sophomore and he hasn't had nearly the playing time Rondo has. He's not Kevin Garnett, but give him a few more years. He's improving fast.
Do you not think Rondo is a future all-star? He's leading the Celtics on the stat sheet so far in the Chicago series.

WE have great heart and total competitiveness. We can still play solid defense. I really actually think we can win a championship. Let you in on a little secret. Cleveland will choke I guarantee it. The last team with Mo Williams as their 2nd scoring option was Milwaukee. And I don't see their defense holding up. Just look at that roster, Sideshow Bob the flopper, Old Z, Szczerbiak, West, Mo. None of them are great or even very good defenders. LeBron going to have a game against someone where he really struggles and Cleveland's going to be blown straight out of the building. I see them as the St. Louis Cardinals with overachieving to the max. Just look at what they've gotten out of a team that really should win 50-53 games. All the overachieving veterans on that team.

Re: How many of you actually like your team?
I don't really like the Celtics so much as I hate the rest of the NBA.
Rondo would be my favorite player regardless of uniform. He's most definitely an all-star already. He's the second-best PG in basketball, ffs.
Give me a break, cold5. Seriously.

Re: How many of you actually like your team?
I love the Celtics. I love them when they are Bird, McHale, and Parish, I love them when they are Wilkins, Radja, and Douglas, hell even when they are Wesley, Fox, and Day.
I love Mikki Moore, I may not want him to play all that much but he is a Celtic and he plays hard he just isn't very good. The only Celtic I can say I hated was that skipping turd Stonehands.
For me this Celtic team is somewhat of a dream come true my two favorite non celts join my favorite celt for a title run. This is turning into Butch and Sundance as opposed to Hoosiers but I still love my Celtics.
I think some have hoped for this in the closet, to dis the trades and giving up on the idea of continuous rebuilding and they will rear their heads soon.
Others are just negative **** who only see freckles on naked girls and can't be helped.
But I think most are like me and love this team through thick and thin and if they want bitch a little along the way it is part of being a fan.

I love the C's, have since birth...loved them during the Bird-era, during the ****, during the Pierce-Walker era, during the **** v2.0, and during this current run. There are certain players I've disliked, but I *always* root for the C's!!!!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Re: How many of you actually like your team?
I have soft spot for every player that wears the green uniform. But after giving them some time I reconsider my stance. For example Mark Blount managed it to get hated by me.
On the current roster there is no player that I could hate. But I am completely in man-love with the following:
P2, Ray, Rondo, Perk & Leon (I really miss Pose and PJ).
I think the Celtics from 2007/2008 has been the greatest sport experience I've ever had (2nd is Borussia Dortmund's squad that got two national titles in 95 & 96 and finished off their run with the Champions League in 97 and the World Team Championships in 98).

Shouldn`t you be a Köln fan?

Back to the topic. I support every player that wears green. There are certain players I like more than others obviously but for me it is more about the team than the individual players.
