Wiretap: Gordon needs a miracle to play in game 5

Ben Gordon's hamstring wasn't feeling good Tuesday morning and didn't participate in the Bulls' shootaround at Emerson College.
Gordon, who is treating the injury, a Grade 2 strain, with ice and electrical stimulation, said he is going to test his leg during pregame to see what he is able to do. On the possibility of playing Tuesday night.
"It's still pretty bad," said Gordon. "I don't know. I'm looking for a miracle."
Big news, will definitely affect tonight's game. What would the Bulls backcourt look like with Gordon out? Will they play Hunter?

They would probably play Hinrich. But come on...I don't buy this...he will play...even if this is true, we are in such a bad luck streak, that he probably gets this miracle someway or another...watch...

If Gordon's out or has it already been decided?

I know Hinrich would start, but what about the 3rd guard? They were running a Rose/Hinrich/Gordon/Salmons rotation at the 1/2/3, so I wonder who will fill in. The options they have are linton johnson, roberson, and lindsay hunter. Hunter is old and slow and Johnson and Roberson are inexperienced. If Rondo gets either Rose or Hinrich in foul trouble they could be in big trouble. I think Hinrich starting shouldn't be a problem, he's used to it, but the bench has to be a concern. Much like we have no front court depth, the Bulls could have no backcourt depth.

I hope he starts, scores 23 points, and we beat them by 40.

Hinrich will start and play 40 minutes or so if Gordon is out. My guess is Salmons will get some time @ SG and Linton Johnson might be given an assignment to guard PP.

If Big Shot Ben misses the game, I'd say it's finally a fair series injury-wise (bolded so the haters don't nitpick my comment). I'm tired of commentators saying, "While the Celtics are playing without KG, fans forget that the Bulls are without Luol Deng" as if it's anywhere near as devastating to their team. Now...Deng + Gordon out? That's their best defender as well as the guy they run their offense through both being out. Sound familiar, C's fans?
Let's win this **** whether he's playing or not.

This is bad... That's two guards in the back court who can handle the ball. Gordon you knew would just look for his shots. I'd rather see Gordon return to the starting lineup tonight. I'm not trying to give Hinrich too much credit since his game and confidence has gone south on this team. Still, he's another threat for them. If Gordon is limited or out, I expect to see a lot of Hunter at backup guard.
Edit: Gordon's playing...
Bulls guard Ben Gordon, who said earlier today he was "looking for a miracle" in regard to his strained right hamstring, looks like he might have gotten one.
Coach Vinny Del Negro confirmed shortly after 6 p.m. that Gordon will start in Game 5 against the Celtics tonight despite a strained right hamstring he suffered during the second quarter of Game 4 Sunday.
"He wants to give it a try," said Del Negro. "It loosened up a little bit, but it's still real tight. It hasn't gotten worse, which is good, but it hasn't gotten better. I don't think it's going to get better until he gets some rest. Let's just keep our fingers crossed, get him out there. Hopefully it will loosen up a little but for him and he won't injure it worse. Whatever he can give us he can give us. It's the playoffs, and he definitely wants to play. We need him to play well."

Yeah, I thought that was funny of Gordon to say. Boston's the team that needs to look for a miracle. Garnett likely won't return this season and Gordon just has a strained hamstring. You can come back from that.
