Beating one's chest after a defensive stop

Tony Allen was pretty exuberant beating his chest after a game-saving stop. Usually, guys are admired for buckets, blocks, passes, whatever. But just for staying in front of his man and bothering his shot? It's rare for that to be a cause for celebration.

I think a display like that speaks WELL of Tony and the team. It shows that defense is highly valued by the whole squad.

ALl right..he fouled a 3pt shot(which was a questionable call IMO, plus Gordon stepped out)..but let's give credit where credit is due...Tony played AMAZING D on Gordon and was one of a big part of our win tonight...I really wonder, if Ray fouling out was bad or good for us..Tony came in and just stuck to Gordon like glue. If Ray is in the game, maybe we lose this game because Gordon would have had a little bit more space to put up those ridiculous shots of his...not that Ray has played bad D, but TA is a freak in defense..dude can guard anybody...

Thanks for acknowledging good d. I'm a huge Tony advocate. I know that three foul was dumb but it's validity was questionable at the same time. Putting Tony in this game freed up P2 for the win.

Stopping BG in the 4th quarter after he crosses half court should put you in the HOF the way this thing is going.

Not good..GREAT! I don't think the foul on the 3 was dumb either...Gordon had him in the air, and jumped into him..what can you do? Nothing...it's not like he hit him on the wrist on nothing..I think if that's Pierce instead of Gordon, they let the play continue...but w/e. Hopefully this earns him more playing time on Gordon so Ray can rest...if it was the first time this whole series BG had a hand in his grill at the end of games...Ray has been doing it nicely, but he isn't as quick as TA...

Gordon was out of bounds on that foul, and even then it was questionable. It seemed like Gordon initiated the contact. I thought Tony did a decent job, but I actually expected a little bit better from him. His +/- for the game turned out to be 0.

+/- for Tony can be misleading, because sometimes he's brought in just for defensive stands, then swapped out for Eddie or somebody.

Even a few possession cycles like that can cause a very negative +/- for him

But I'll admit to not noticing how many of those there were in Game 5. ;)

That's something KG would do. We're all channeling KG's emotion.

On a side note, he looked fly in that suit tonight. 8-)

Keri Hilson - really cool singer lately. very soft voice.

you may remember her from that hit song a few years ago with Timbaland "the way I are"

her song "scream" with timbaland and the lead singer of Pussycat Dolls - really sexy.

Was that before or after Gordon completely blew by Tony, who proceeded to jump on his shoulder and foul him?
