Doc speaks on the Rondo/Miller Foul....

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Wed Apr 29, 2009 7:00 pm

WALTHAM - Doc Rivers stood by his starting point guard at a brief shoot around this afternoon prior to the team's departure for Chicago and Game 6 on Thursday. Rivers reiterated that he didn't think that Rajon Rondo was trying to hurt Brad Miller when he committed a hard foul on him with 2.0 seconds remaining in overtime. "I don't think Rondo fouled to hurt him or anything like that," Rivers said. "I thought Rondo was clearly trying to go for it and then couldn't reach him and then was just trying to grab anything he could grab. But Brad Miller clearly wants to make a big deal of that so we'll let him."

Howard ELBOWED a guy in the face. Inadvertently hitting a guy in the mouth when he's going up for a layup to tie the game in the last five seconds and elbowing someone in the face out of frustration in the first three minutes of a game are two completely different things.

Yeah, those are totally unrelated. Howard's elbow was more like Ray's elbow against Verejao. Granted one was in the head, one was in the nuts. I don't think Howard and Rondo's fouls are the same at all, although i think neither should be suspended.

Let's add just a little more......Lee has a fractured sinus from Howard and is out for the next game....Howard's own teammate.....nuff said.

ps...Lee's status for the remainder of the playoffs is uncertain.

Of course that's what Doc Rivers is going to say... anybody in Boston will say the exact same thing. The only people that disagree is well... everyone else.

No Trolling... just keepin it real.

Well I think that is EXACTLY why it WAS a flagrant foul. The whole point of the flagrant foul rule is that a player after realizing that he can't reach a ball DOES NOT just grab anything he can because that's exactly how serious injuries happen. Imagine Miller wasn't as slow and unathletic as he is---imagine someone with speed getting smacked across the head in mid air---that's taking chances at other player's health and that's exactly what the whole flagrant foul rule wants to prevent IMO.
IMO Rivers actually argues the wrong way by saying that Rondo "tried TO GRAB ANYTHING HE COULD after realizing he can't reach Miller".

WOOOOOW, Like K.W song its amazing. He should have did a remix for you and your post............YOUR AMAZING.........
Rondo didnt go for the ball and they did make a bad call, but we all know that the reffs arent going to decide a game like that with two seconds left on a flag call, but they did call a foul and Miller couldve tied the game if he made both F.Ts but he chocked.
Also your comperison of Howards elbow and Rondo commiting a dumb unitentional foul is way off......... I mean way off and wrong.
Howard intentionally went head hunting with his elbow and Rondo commited an unintetional foul.

Oh and guess what?????? Howard just got suspended for one game meanwhile Rondo is having a latte while he's waiting for practice. Seeeeeeee

Rondo didn't slap anybody...and Miller got blood because his face hits PP's shoulder on the way down...give me a break man. Chicago is just whining because they lost. If Miller makes both FT's nobody would complain. Rondo went for the ball, couldn't even get close to reaching it, and touched dude in the face because he is like one foot shorter than Miller. Not like it was any worse than Miller going at Big Baby the other day. That's a good hard, CLEAN playoff foul. People need to take the damn crying somewhere else. I didn't see howard's play so im not saying nothing about it. But an elbow is worse than touching somebody in the face. Im surprised how nobody mentions Ray Allen being fouled out on at least 3 bull calls...Celtics have been getting robbed all series long, now people pull this **** off trying to screw our team even more...

Everybody knows this. But they are just deliberately trying to **** the Celtics. The NBA is trying to screw us, and the officiating this series speaks for itself. It's us against the world. Ray Allen gets fouled out on a MOVING PICK by Miller...yet that detail seems like it has been forgotten real fast.

Bulls fan here,

What would your reaction be if Rondo got hit in the face and was bleeding on the last 15 sec of the Game. Would you guys want a Flagrant?

Lets be real here C'mon :D

Here's a thought, next game send Bill Walker in for long enough to show that dirty playing bitch Brad Miller what a real flagrant feels like so he can do a little comparison shopping. I don't usually react like this, and I used to like Brad Miller but after watching this series I really just **** hate him. The laughing after the moving pick on Ray that somehow got Ray fouled out of the game topped it off. Brad sets dirty picks all over the place, not just moving but thrusting his elbows into people, then whines every time anybody comes near him when he has the ball. He's a B-I-T-C-H bitch bitch beeaatch. My favorite is blowing the free throw and then whining about the foul, if he made those free throws he would have shrugged it off for what it was, he didn't get hit that hard.

LOL...wow it sure took you a lot of seasons to realize that Brad Miller is a dirty player. I think most realized it like 6years ago at least.

Well how about when Kirk grabs Perk by the shoulders from behind and pulls him to the floor, not even pretending to make an attempt on the ball. It was unnecessary and not making a play on the ball, the definition of a flagrant, but it wasn't called either. I'm not saying your wrong for wanting a flagrant there, but not calling either might have been the only moment of consistency the refs have had all series besides consistently sucking **** for both teams.

I didn't think it was even a hard foul, let alone a dirty foul.

I couldn't believe the foul out call on Ray, and then what was even worse was the blatant non-call when Paul Pierce was hacked big time immediately afterwards.

I'd always heard he was a dirty player but never really saw him play that much except in a few games in Boston, especially when he was w/Sac. I knew he was a good passer with a good shot that made excellent decisions and usually killed us when he played us. I tend to judge players by what I see rather than what is said about them, and yes.... now I have seen it in all it's dirty glory.
