Rondo and Perkins post-game. This isn't the whole thing, just a summary. But the discussion was largely focused on Rondo's foul on Brad Miller. After Rondo, Perkins was asked to comment on it. He astutely pointed out that Chicago committed just as flagrant a foul a few plays ago.

Then he started talking as if that was his foul (used reasoning to back up Rondo).. but he almost rolled with it as if it was his foul (because he's so used to flagrants being called on him). He starts saying, "I wasn't trying to.." [i.e. hurt him] but comes to his senses instantly: "I didn't even foul him. Rondo fouled him. [  ]. but I always get blamed for everything [ ]...... good playoff foul."

Putting this aside...I must admit, that a few years ago-I was WRONG about Perkins....I NEVER thought he would amount to an NBA Starting center...NEVER...The guy could barely make it up & down the court in his first 2 seasons here...But, all of his HARD WORK paid off for him and our team....I am SO glad we stuck with him.

I was laughing at that on NBA.com too, Perk seems to have come out of his shell in interviews a bit.

That's crazy. You didn't believe a few years ago?

When it was 3 seasons ago that he had that huge 19 rebound game against the Sixers, after which both Iverson and Pierce said that Perkins could be an all-star big man one-day.

When it was 6 seasons ago that Jim O'Brien called him the best raw rebounder he had ever come across (as quoted in the Globe).

And trust me when I say, Perkins mid-range and long-range shot is just as good as Big Baby's. If Perkins had to display a consistent 18 footer, he would. He can make those already. I've even seen him a few years ago at warmups, make multiple consecutive 3 pointers for fun (along with Big Al). But he won't go all Sheed/Toine on us anytime soon (hopefully)

Apparently you missed his first 2 years in the NBA.
