Will Rondo be suspended?

Post#1 » by Derekman » Fri May 1, 2009 3:13 am

The league will obviously review the play. In a regular season game, its a suspension no doubt, but since it's game 7 will they just give him a fine?

Yep, very likely we don't see him in Game 7. If Howard got suspended, so will Rondo... game 7 or not.

Its not even questionable... throwing a guy off the court and then throwing an eblow at his face.

He's not going to be around for game 7.

Suspended? For what? It was nothing...he pulled the guy for his hand, he got a flagrant and that is it...

I say yes, but I'm hoping he won't.

He slung Hinrich into the announcers table, and coupled with the heat the league took on NOT giving Rondo a flagrant on Miller, they won't mess around this time.

I highly doubt he'll be suspended. The elbow came while getting Kirk off of him. I think it's different than just swinging an opposite elbow during a game.

I think in any other situation that would've been a double technical, and that would've been the end of it. I really don't think the league would retroactively act on that. The only reason Howard's was different was because there wasn't really anything going on at the time. Same goes for Ray's elbow.

We'll see, though.

If players literally shove each other in the face and don't get suspended, I don't know why an elbow while someone's on you during a tussle would result in that. Did he even connect?

The elbow doesnt matter when he threw hinrich into the score board. And the tape shows that he literaly grabbed his arm and tossed him.

Don't forget he also threw him into the scorers table. Those acts combined should equal a suspension IMO.

There's no doubt Rondo deserves a suspension, this is one of the easiest calls all-time IMO. After the Dwight Howard elbow to be fair Rondo must be suspended... However... I doubt the league does anything this series is making too much money and too many headlines (good headlines at that), Stern will protect the product even if it that means enforcing double-standards and protecting the instigator in this case...

So if he swung Kirk toward any area, and the scorer's table wasn't around, would that also be worth a suspension? Just wondering. I really don't see how pushing a guy in the face is a lesser offense. And I'm not saying a "who did it first" thing, cause obviously the league doesn't care about that (see the Knicks vs. Denver brawl).

It's marbury time.

If he is suspended, Kirk should be too. After all he came and just shoved Rondo in the face..to me that's just as bad...either both or nothing...

I'm not routing for either team but if Rondo doesn't get suspended then the NBA is full of @##%. If Howard gets a game, Rondo gets a game 100%. Amare got a game for stepping on the court from the sidelines, tossing a guy into the tables...yep that's a game.

Starburry better play well...game 7 should be interesting.

Two of the biggest Celtic haters have decided to come here. I could see him being suspended but he's not the only one that play whom that applies to.
