We haven`t had one of these in a while, so it is more than due...

This is guy is the must stubborn SOB in the world! He just refuses to change his rotation. Rondo can crawl the ball up the floor and he won`t get benched! Marbury was great when he came in but didn`t get minutes after that! As a player how will you react to that? The guy in front of you is having a nightmare game and you still can`t get playing time.

And why is Rondo on the floor at the end of the game on offensive possessions? He can`t shoot, we are 4 on 5 when he is in...

We lost the game in the second quarter when we practically just stood on the floor. We needed Doc to do something, react, shake things up but he just went with his default stuff like he always does...

Having Rivers as a coach really is frustrating!

Pierce picking up his third was when we had some slippage. The last 2 minutes of the second quarter saw it go from 10 to 18. There was a nice play for Ray to get him a wide open look at the top of the key - that was one he needed to make to stop the bleeding and maybe give us a chance to get into the locker room down by 11 or 12.

I like Doc---but he is KILLING this team right now---by his HORRIBLE use/NON use of the bench.....JACKASSS did the EXACT SAME thing last playoffs....until he finally pulled his head out of his ASSSS and went back to regular season coaching.....MORON is a KIND word to use for him.

EXACTLY. I still can't get over the fact that even though Marbury was easily playing the best offensive game out of all of the games he has played for us, Doc decides to NOT give him PT after the 2nd qtr. Once again, he overplayed all the starters and barely even used the bench. Thanks for the loss, Doc.

This thread is so strange. I went to game and at no point did I think the C's **** the bed was Doc's fault. The thought never even crossed my mind. This one is all on the players. Sure Doc could have played Steph more in this game but when you are making a run in the 2nd half, you want your main guys in there. And you know what? We made our run. If it wasn't for that stupid Rondo pass off of Ray's legs we would have won this game. C's just didn't execute on a couple of key possessions. I do feel confident for Game 2 but the Celts better plan on playing hard for more than one quarter a game if they want to win this series.

Did I miss something? Did Doc lace 'em up tonight?

This is ALL on the players. About 30 minutes of lackadaisical basketball will get you a loss every night in the playoffs.

I like using the sample size of the last 89 games versus the last 5 shots so when you go with Rondo over Marbury I can't really fault you.

However, Tony Allen should never under any circumstances be on the court.

No kidding...Rondo still almost had a triple-double...Marbs had a good stretch in the first half, and I still would have liked to have seen him in the second, but oh,well...

I agree with everyone who said its on the players, we looked worse than awful in the first half primarily the last 5 mins of the second quarter, but nevertheless Doc needs to punush guys like Baby for over pursuing on closeouts and letting Lewis go by him everytime as well as Rondo for dribbling the air out of the ball. Our offense in the first half was tough, dribble the ball for 20 seconds and find someone that is coming off a screen for a 20 footer. Lets face it, the pick and roll has killed us all season and did again tonight. That team could get a wide open three everytime if they wanted. Also, Rondo has not made a jump shot since game 4 of the Bulls series, literally. He was shooting with such confidence before and isnt now. He shoots on his way down when he is shooting with no confidence. He needs to get some easy buckets early to develop his game later on. I told my buddy who I was watching the game with was watch, this lose was far to reminiscint to that Sunday game at the Garden. PS - why doesnt pierce get a foul call going to the bucket anymore. I mean if kobe or wade or lebron took that one at howard with a minute left, they would have shot 5 free throws.

The team doesn't show up till half way through the third, and only then because they're getting completely embarrased on their homecourt and we're blaming the coach?

Cant blame this one on Doc, if anything Im more upset with our last 2 mins of the first half. If Doc took Rondo out Id be pissed, his D was great on Johnson/Alston

I'm no TA or Weekie Moore Fan... but with 3 minutes left in a BLOWOUT there is no reason they are not on the floor. The starters need rest and the deep bench needs time on the floor... we MIGHT need them in the next series (TA ON Bron anyone?) and it would be good to get them in the flow. Shame on Doc.

This all goes back to Bill Simmons' column like3 years ago when he said he didn't like Doc's coaching.

Ever since then, there has been a drum beat that doc was somehow an inferior coach and kept his job because the media loves him.

Doc drives me crazy when he plays tony allen, but that's it. Doc is solid.

No, actually, I Watch the games... and I have never been a big fan of Doc (as a coach, great guy though). I said I am No TA fan, and really hope this is his last year with the team... but right now, he is our 'stopper' and next series (if there is one) when he is called on to d-up LBJ - I hope he is in the flow and not rusty...
