"Mommy, make the little green men quit dunking on me."

O-Sen Link

Magic fan here:
Thought Boston fans would like to read how the Orlando media is reporting these last games.

At one point late in the third period, Boston point guard Rajon Rondo drove down the lane and dunked while Magic center Dwight Howard and forward Rashard Lewis just stood there flat-footed and silent. Hey, guys, you might want to actually jump.

Or at least yell, "Boo!"

Of course, the Magic players and coaches will say they fiercely wanted this game, but they did not. You cannot really want something and play this horribly.

Before the game, Celtics Coach Doc Rivers said he wanted his guards to take it to the hole and challenge Howard. The Celtics did just that. Rondo and Ray Allen both attacked the basket at will in the first half when the Celtics scored 61 points. You heard me ... 61 POINTS! How in the world do the Celtics score 61 points in one half against what is supposed to be one of the best defenses in the league?

The thing is, game 2 is typical of the Tragic, not game 1...same with the C's, that wasn't them in game 1, it was in game 2...

There were lots of comments about Orlando being "satisfied" with a split in Boston.

IMO, that's the difference between a championship caliber team and one that's still developing.

If you're a championship team, you go up 1-0 on your opponents floor and then fight to get up 2-0 because you know it can essentially put the other team out of the series.

If you're developing? You don't expect to win any games on the opponent's floor and gladly let your opponent get back into a series because your (limited) objective is already achieved.

Exactly...when the C's win the series in 6, will the Tragic be satisfied because they didn't get swept?

Are Howard and Lewis even thinking about defense?

this play (Rondo's Dunk) happened right in front of me. I too wondered why the lack of reaction from Howard. The only thing I can think of is that it took him by surprise. Up until that point he had intimmidated most of the Celtics into taking floaters or quick-release types of shots so as to avoid the block. Rondo accelerated so quickly that there really wasn't any time to react.
