If he is, it makes it extremely difficult to win on the road. We can't lose another big man.

No, he wont be. If people are going to question if someone should be suspended every time players touch each other now, then basketball is going to go down the tubes real quick. If he threw an elbow at him then yeah...suspend him, but that isn't what happened. I hardly even feel what happened was a flagrant and was more of a flop.

Ron Jeremy just said he agrees with Doc. No suspensions should be called anymore. He might have shot himself in the foot saying that. The league probably won't suspend Perk if the opposing coach doesn't 'want' it to happen...I think he should though...stupid play..that **** really turned the game around IMO. It was 8, and it went to 11 because of his stupidity....maybe if we go small we play their 3 pt shooters better..they have no low post threat really..Dwight puts alot of brick hook shots...we'll see...

Outsiders view: Yes.

I mean what he did was 10x worse than what Alston did o_O...

I'm not going to argue better or worse, but Alston threw a blatant slap to the head in a non basketball situation. How can the league ignore that? That is simply black and white. I dont think you can say the same about what happened with Perk. You have to admit there was some flopping in that incident.

Well...I still think the Alston thing was just as bad as it gets. Totally NOTHING to do with basketball...he deliberately went out there and slapped Eddie. That's bad. Perkins was a pick with the elbow out. Just as stupid, but at least it was a 'pick' and a basketball related play..lol..I agree he should be suspended too. :-?

What is the point of flagrant 1's then? I think that is what he got and deserved. I mean everything that is more than a regular foul doesn't deserve a 1 game suspension.

The ball wasn't even around Perkins when he threw the elbow so it was basically the same as Alston's hit in that regard.

Here's my thing, if Alston was NOT suspended I'd sit here and say fine Perkins got his flagrant 1, could have been a flagrant 2, but move on without a suspension but...

Come on Alston slapped the top of House's head and got suspended o_o... Perkins threw an elbow at another guy's face (AND HIT)... If you're going to suspend Alston for that I think you have to suspend Perkins for his elbow...

edit:

I'm really just asking for consistency within a series

I would agree if he threw his elbow. He didn't throw it. He held it up and walked with it in the air. I know he was in the wrong and am not defending him, but that isn't suspension worthy. I dont believe that you think that and what Alston did is the same. You can't just walk up and smack someone. That isn't playing basketball and I know you can see that they are not the same thing.

Probably not.

Major flop. Perk is strong, but not THAT strong.

EDIT: That wasn't even his elbow. He forearmed him.

Looks like he hit with the forearm on a second look - it could just be the camera angle though.

As a Magic fan, I would like him suspended because we have been boned twice on suspension.

As a basketball fan, the only suspendable play all playoff long IMO was Fischer taking out Scola.

I do agree that the league being able to pick and choose who to suspend on a whim is the real issue here.

I agree, except I think they probably had to suspend Alston too. That was just blatant bitch slapping and doesn't belong in the game. Maybe they could have settled it with a fine I guess, but you can argue the same about anything else they suspend for.

IMO no intent to hurt should equal no suspension. Suspensions are for plays where there is intent to harm.

I think what you're saying is fair, but they cant allow a player to hit another player. I know it was barely a hit, but he did smack him and they can't let that go like its no big deal.

You´re not outsider, you´re a pathetic Boston-hater. I think both didn´t deserve a suspension, but Perkins was a basketball play.

It´s ridiculous people even try to compare with Fisher.

This was a flop. Perk barely extended. Anyone who has a problem with this has never played basketball. I'm sorry. I'm sick of this thread popping up every game. I think the nba has actually been consistent with the suspensions.

Looking at the point 48 seconds, it is clear that Pietrus did not flop. He was hit. That said, the intent from Pekins was clear. He was trying to box out. This was a basketball play and the flagrant 1 was the appropriate action. No further action from the league would make sense. Perkins was not even looking at the play.
