I understand the father's point of view, he has a valid point. However, he's clearly exaggerating his point. The cap was indeed knocked off his son's head, but I didn't see the force of Davis' push sending his son into his chair. He was still standing. And how was he embarrassed? Who'd noticed, really? Orlando fans were too shocked...

Orlando Magic fan Ernest Provetti is demanding an apology from Glen "Big Baby" Davis after the Celtics' thrilling Game 4 win in Orlando Sunday.

Why exactly?

Provetti said Davis shoved his 12-year-old son Nicholas with such force after Davis made a game-winning jumper, that Nicholas' baseball cap catapulted into the air and his son dove into his courtside seat.

Provetti sent an e-mail to the NBA League office this morning. He said Davis crossed the line, literally, and embarrassed his son.

"The NBA makes it clear to not cross the sideline," he said in a telephone interview. "If I cross that line, the NBA will take away my tickets. It's a double standard."

In the e-mail, Provetti said Davis conducted himself like a "raging animal with no regard for fans' personal safety."

Dude needs to chill. It's too bad that Big Baby's first buzzer beater in his career has to have such stupid problems along with it.

The kid didn't dive into his seat after Baby bumped him, he just lost his cap. What a freakin' crybaby. If you're not man enough to put up with a little incidental contact from a player, don't sit with your kid at the courtside.

I remember when the C's won the title at the old Garden and Larry Bird had to punch his way out of the crowd because he was being mobbed so badly. None of those fans sought apologies from Bird.

Our society is going 'soft'.

- The guy expects NBA players to never cross the sideline, as if every inch beyond the sideline belongs to fans, lol. The court belongs to the players, sit close at your own risk, stand inches away at an even bigger risk.

hey Davis should apologize not because this over indulgent A-Hole father is telling him to but because it's a kid and kids are a protected class until they grow up and become a holes like thier fathers. These are big men running up an down the floor and sometimes fans get in harms way. It's a risk you assume when you sit courtside in the seats. Dollars to donuts that kid AND his father were yelling **** the whole game but no matter, Davis should still apologize. I know enough about Davis to know that he's not about trying to hurt a kid ( in fact I don't think any of the players in the NBA would try to hurt a kid) but so I'd be willing to bet that when he comes down off his high he'll do the right thing. There is a TON of emotion in BBD and it was a very hot game at the end with both teams grappling for a win but Davis was so high after his shot that there's no way he was aware of his surroundings.

He just wants his 15 minutes.

This is funny.

If that's the boy's father wearing the light blue shirt, his back was turned away from his son. So, how could he immediately determine that his son went into his chair by Davis' push if he wasn't even looking at him. If you watch that full clip, the man in the light blue shirt is so flabbergasted by Davis' made shot that he turns around in disgust with his back to the boy. Funny, how this demand comes out from a lost. I wonder had Davis missed the shot and Orlando had won. Would this father still see the need to contact the league office on behave of his son.

I'm not excusing Davis, he could've been more cognizant of where he was on the floor mid excitement. Admittedly, the push to the kid seem unnecessary. The boy wasn't in his way, Davis shouldn't have gone out of bounds. Again, the momentum of his shot drove him back and Davis unaware that he was now in the out of bounds area. Fans in that area are within their right to be standing there if near to their seat.

Baby hit that shot and I can only imagine the adrenaline surging through his body. I play poker sometimes and I will occasionally get in a 1k-2k pot and i feel like I am having a heart attack. I can't imagine the feeling he had after hitting that shot. Baby certainly looked like he lost himself in the moment. He certainly didn't look to be hurting the kid.

The pussifying of our society reaches new levels of patheticness every week. Everyone thinks that they are empowered at birth to have anything and everything they want. The whole world owes them. Used to be a thrill to be run into by a player.

What 's going to happen when LaBron or Kobe or some other player dives into the fans and someone ends up in the hospital or possibly crippled for life. Fans didn't used to sit so close.

The father is a sourpuss plain and simple.

This "concerned" father says Davis embarrassed his son, but then turns right around and brings even more attention to the footage (and Nicholas) by exaggerating the story and publicly releasing his son's name. Yeah, because that makes a lot of sense.

And the real kicker: Provetti used to be Celtics fan.

If Big Baby pushed me down when I was that kids age today, I would have a big goofy smile on my face.

I couldn't stop laughing last night when I saw Davis run into the Douche. The look on that brats face was priceless! Orlando fans are some of the most annoying whining fans I've ever come across, even worse than toronto fans.

And OT, what is up with Chuby no-tie Stan? He is the worst whining sniveling drip of the bunch. Freakin expansion team...
