Draft lottery in 3 days.

Which teams get "lucky" this year? I just recently saw footage of the 1985 lottery. The Knicks' envelope looks different than the others. The camera focuses completely off Stern in the first pick when he's shuffling the envelopes, but focuses on him for most of the others. Coincidence? As far as this season goes, a lot of the teams already have a power forward so it'll be interesting to see who gets the first pick. The Raptors have an entire country rooting for them. Assuming that Lebron and Wade both go to the Knicks, they're in desperate need of a defensive Center. So, I'm going to guess:
1. Raptors
2. Knicks
3. Kings

I don't know the odds, but out of those 3, I hope the kings win.

I'm hoping for them as well. Minnesota and Sacramento are the two I'm pulling for? I just hope they don't fall to fourth. Are Jordan Hill or James Harden really that good?

All I can say is people should watch the first lottery. I can't say much for the following years, but that certainly looks suspicious. Most of the comments made regarding the video agree with me.

I'd like to see it go...
1. Thunder - Still had a dearth of talent last year, but didn't obviously tank like a lot of others, plus the Griffin/Durant pairing for the next decade is sexy.
2. Timberwolves - Another team in need of talent that didn't tank and they could really use Rubio in the backcourt with Foye to help out Big Al.
3. Wizards - Didn't tank that much, but still a team in a good situation that could add any of Thabeet, Harden, or Hill and see an improvement or move the pick to help them out.
The Kings are my third favorite team, so I wouldn't mind them slipping in there and taking Rubio or moving back and taking Jennings.
EDIT: Also, I don't like the idea of the Knicks slipping into the top three. Yeah, conspiracy and all, but I really like the idea of Curry going there. At the very worst he can fill a Barbosa type role in D'Antoni's system immediately and maybe has the potential to develop into a Steve Nash type point guard on the run. I think that's the ideal situation for him.

I had no idea the lottery is in 3 days! And I am glad I didn`t!
I am hoping the kings get lucky this time. It would be nice if the first two picks went to the west, they have some horrible teams over there...

And they have nine really good teams over there. This is why the West is always deeper playoff wise. They have a chunk of good teams then the rest that know to tank early in the year, then those replenish in the draft and eventually keep the West strong. The East has a weaker end of the playoff list, so more teams try to keep competing and get stuck in mediocrity with picks in the 10-15 range. That's why I'm slightly hoping the Wizards do luck out and get a top two pick.

Thunder are going to win. Stern loves them, that's why he let them screw Seattle over. I hope they lose and Durant leaves as a FA.
NBA equivalent of the Baltimore Ravens.

We might as well just admit to ourselves that Stern's NBA--from draft shenanigans to the hand picking of playoff referees--is half a notch above professional wrestling. It's still great fun.

I don't know how or if it is rigged now. But yes in 85 it was clearly rigged. I've watched that video many times. The guy drops them all the same way except for one envelope, for some reason he slams it off the side. Then you clearly see the corner bent and stern feeling around for it. And Sterns face the whole time really irks me, you can tell he is up to something. I hate him.

i wonder if stern will give the thunder the number 1 pick. I feel he did it for the bulls last year cuz rose is from there, same with lebron in 03. he didnt do it in 04 for atl cuz that woulda seemed kinda suspect doing it 2 times in a row. ...thats just what i think...

HOW THEY RIG THE LOTTERY:
1-They assign number combinations to teams (in the 2007 draft, every Celtic number combo had the no.1 or no.2 in it)---Wyc said, he knew they didn't win without even checking our numbers-cause neither 1 or 2 came out.....They SHOULD assign random, out of order numbers.
2-They do a dry run drawing using REGULAR BALLS---BUT, when the ACTUAL Drawing takes place....They take out those REGULAR BALLS....and bring the "SECURED" BALLS in a LOCKED CASE-!!.....What was WRONG with the REGULAR balls??....Nothing---but they need to bring in the WEIGHTED BALLS---So, bringing them in under tight "SECURITY" gives everyone the impression that everything is on the up and up...Obviously, the no.1 & 2 balls were weighted....ALSO, under the guise of "Security", they Lock everyone in the room-and DON'T televise it live-in case something goes wrong-!! HIGHLY Suspicious.
This is how the TOP 3 worst teams did NOT even get into the top 3 picks--an almost IMPOSSIBLE feat if they ran the drawing with the REGULAR BALLS....Stern wanted to PUNISH all 3 teams for TANKING the final weeks of the season--Which ALL of the teams did.

Yeah I think they do something with the balls like that too.
I figure they gave it to the Bulls last year, the Bulls always have luck in these things - because they were Jordan's team they still have a big fan base that has basically always included Stern and the refs.

Yeah, the Sonics were looking at moving and get one of the top picks while the three teams accused of tanking got the worst picks possible. Something was very suspicious about that lottery. I just hope Boston doesn't decide to tank in the future.

Which teams do you think tanked? I didn't notice much tanking this season.

Well, I feel that my explanation is the ONLY way they can rig the lottery---I just don't understand WHY they take out the FIRST set of balls and bring in an alternate set of ping pong balls---UNLESS, they're weighted----ONLY THING THAT MAKES SENSE-!!!!
