Well..I read one today...where Doc answers that question.. and says NO..Kg would not have played...but idk if we can really trust that.

The surgery is just to remove bone spurs. It won't fix the problem with his knee, just take away some of the pain. The problem with his knee is that the .tendon has strained and possibly partially torn away from his knee. If he needs surgery to repair that injury it could be very damaging to his career. As I understand it, the surgical remedy involves screws in the knee, and the recovery after the surgery is only partial. Since KG could have torn the muscle more, it is understandable that Doc was very cautious, because it seems that the injury can be career threatening. Hopefully, it's not even close to that bad, but the lengthened recovery time seems to indicate that it was worse than originally diagnosed, or that during his brief comeback the injury became worse.

As fans, we have been kept in the dark. KG's media silence on the knee speaks volumes and has me a little worried.

I think the spurs may have actually had some contribution to the tendon injury if i read right?

so yeh, get it done and get him into recovery asap

That's what I thought. If there was no intention for him to ever play this postseason, why didn't he have it done right away after the season ended? More of the botch-job from the Celtics organization...
