With or Without Ray...

This team will be in good shape for the next two years...
The reason I say this is simple. Rajon Rondo. Before the Chicago series he was one of the most underrated players in the league. Now we head into this off-season and we are debating whether he is a max contract player.
Rajon has improved every year in this league and there is no reason to think this won't be the case next year. If he can become a 75% shoot FT shooter and continues to develope his shot he will essentially replace Allen as one of the BIG THREE options on this team. That doesn't mean he will be taking the last shot with the game on the line, but he will be a proven number three option. The only thing that can stop Rondo from an 18-6-8 stat line next year is Rajon Rondo.
Which is why I think the key to this off-season is to deepen the bench. Whether that means trading Ray Allen for some immediate help/depth or keeping him and looking at other avenues. The player that I covet the most is Raja Bell. I think he is absolutely perfect for the Celtics. He can bury the three, guard the SG and SF position, and bring veteran experience to a unit that lacked a real leader. I also advocate bring Marbury back, if he agrees, at the right price. I would also look at Drew Gooden to replace the Miki Moore/Patrick O'Bryant disaster.
I am definately glad I am not Danny Ainge, but here is hoping he finds away to bring Raja Bell here from Charlotte.
Davis and Giddens for Raja Bell and a 2nd?
Would we do that? Would they do that?
