Time to reinstate DieselCeltic?
I was thinking about this the other day, everything he said about basketball since last year playoffs has been spot on.
I know he got on peoples bad side for putting down the Cs and saying we should just give up which I agree was stupid as no Celtics team should just give up but I think he added a lot just said things the wrong way.

Well, some guys are glass half empty, some are glass half full. I watched the Celtics when they were losing game after game rolling out Gerald frikkin Green when Pierce was down, somebody claiming the sky was falling because the Celtics were unlikely to win the title didn't bother me much.
Besides, you can add guys you're tired of to "Foe" status if you need to.

If you are negative all the time sooner or later you will be right about something. It is one thing to make argumentative negative posts and another thing to troll...

I don't think anyone is ever banned for their opinions, it is just deciding that you have to flame and antagonize the board with it all the time as if you say it over and over again I guess it feels like more people agree with you. It just happens, guy's agendas or issues become bigger than the board and putting them on "Foe" or whatever doesn't stop the board from going to hell, you just don't know why.

The board is finally in good shape again because we got the riff-raff out. There are lots of other boards with members not yet pissed off at him, let him go or stay there.

anyone dumb enough to troll their own team's board should remain banned. its not like he took the give up argument any further and started looking at draft prospects or anything like that. it was blanket reactionary negativity. no place for that nonsense here

It's not like he just said, we're gonna lose guys. He attacked our opinions when we disagreed. Just because he was right about something doesn't mean he should be brought back. It's not like he is a prophet, he had a 50 percent chance of being right.

50% his chance was much higher then that. Only one team wins a final. Predicting that one team will lose is easy money..especially when our superstar is out. But the idea the Celtics or any team should give up is wrong.
Its not like he said - its my considered opinion we will lose. he was TROLLING telling fans and teams to 'give up." Come on now. That not the mark of any special genius.

Re: Time to reinstate DieselCeltic?
Diesel was my personal pet peeve on this board for his general inflammatory posts (I could use a lot more descriptive language but I'll leave it at that), but especially for once telling Kefa he's kick his ass if he met him in the street, e-peen tough guys really flabbergast me. Joebiscuit is obviously known as a negative poster but the difference between the two was Joe never attacked anyone for disagreeing with him, he had his opinion and stated it but he was respectful to other board members. I actually miss Joe, even if I am glad he lost his bet.
Diesel on the other hand I really don't miss but I can't say I'd wish being banned on anyone. The ignore option is there for anyone to use and he has at times been on mine, no one else has bothered me that much. However I think his self-rightous trolling brought down the overall quality of the board and polarized many otherwise interesting OP's, I'm wouldn't complain if he came back because I can ignore him if I choose to but I really don't miss seeing post after post turn into the same lame duck arguments.
You want to know why I use the term "self-righteous" just read my signature.

Re: Time to reinstate DieselCeltic?
No one is banned for opinions or even negativity. Once someone is banned there is no unbanning them, some posters do return other different screen names and as long as they use different IP addresses and tend to be a good citizen sometimes we won't assume its the same poster, a certain person is coming to mind here, I have lobbied in the past to allow banned users to be reinstated to no avail, it does not happen, one offense for most things wont get you banned it has to be a continual pattern of behavior.
