Kevin Garnett's recovery from right knee surgery apparently is going well. Garnett expressed optimism in a recent conversation with team owner Wyc Grousbeck, who spoke yesterday at a corporate sponsorship event at the Boston Harbor Hotel. "I talked to [Garnett] and he guaranteed the championship in 2010 and in 2011," Grousbeck said. "He was as fired up as he's ever been." Boston Globe
ot......Boston Celtics fans could soon have another way to watch their team play - online. The NBA franchise is in talks with Comcast to stream games live, and free, on the Web next season. “There’s a generation of fans that want that second-screen experience,” Celtics president Rich Gotham told the Herald yesterday. “They want the big screen hi-def, but they also want a computer open in front of them to delve into stats and chat with fans in real time.” The idea is the latest way for the team to reach fans and increase the digital experience. The Celtics have set up a Facebook page that has attracted nearly 400,000 friends. The team also uses Twitter to blast news. Boston Herald

Bolded the two best parts. That KG quote can give you chills. And the fact that they might stream the games, is awesome. No more guys on here asking for illegal streams, they're gonna be free!

^Nice to see the C's take the anti-MLB stance and allow content online!!

Great news on all counts, but just want to point out that it's a Wyc quote, not a KG quote. Might have a little different spin on it, and I'll wait to hear the guarantee straight from the 6'-13" horses mouth.

Man I wish he didn't guarantee a championship.

owner drivel.
Never take something someone elses says as a players quote.
the best part is the second paragraph.
I hope the NBA does this in general. The playoff games are on way to late for casual fans like me. And when the Celtics are out... I just become a casual fan.
[I'm not going to wait till 9pm so I can ensure my night is over by 12:00am with your damn game... should start them at about 6pm so I people can still go out after]
Sidenote: does anyone know where I could watch the ORL-CLE series online? I'd like to see how ORL actually beat CLE.... I decided to hang out with my friends who don't like basketball those nights instead of stay in and watch the games myself at night.

These types of guarantees are a recipe for disaster especially when you're coming back from a knee injury SIGNIFICANTLY more serious than was originally though.

We had won a championship this year. But to do that wa have to give more rest to the starter during the regular season.

From what I can tell the last couple days, KG's injury wasn't that bad. It takes a while to heal from it, but it's not bad at all. Bone spurs.
so his injury is as serious as originally thought, and he should be back better then ever.
Then again it's been hard to tell what kind of injury KG had with all the talking the Celtics have been doing about it. =\

Also I'd like the title of this post to be changed. KG didn't say anything to the media or make any guarantees.
And we all know how the owner are great with P.R. drivel.
I just think as fans we shouldn't allow words to be put in KG's mouth. If KG is going to make a guarantee, he's going to be a man about it and say it to the media. He's not a shy fella.

Since you are calling Wyc a liar......I made YOU happy and made the change in the title.....I don't think he lied but I made the change.
ps.....he's not just a fan.....he's the frickin owner.

If the Celtics can add the following 2 guys to their roster: Sheed and Grant Hill, they will win next season (assuming the major guys stay healthy)

First he fakes an injury and sits out the entire playoffs, and now he's guaranteeing championships. Where does it end? It's one thing to guarantee one championship, but two? The nerve of this guy! He's too intense for his own good! Trade him! TRADE HIM!!!!!!

I'd say Dice and Grant Hill. tho Sheed would be a nice consolation prize.
it's good to hear KG is fired up. i just hope he's really healthy. i still think we are the faves, with even minor additions this offseason. i have no doubt we would have repeated with a healthy KG.

They just need to stop publishing the proclamations by athletes that they're going to win titles. If he said he`d forfeit his salary every season the Celtics didn`t win the title then it`s news. Otherwise it`s just idle talk that goes on all the time.

Well if it ain't the man I sig'd.
Thought your panties would be up in a bundle again after those Amare rumors resurfaced.

Well, if the rumor was Scal and Amare being traded even up, I would have been protesting that we weren`t getting sufficient value back for Scal. Ok, only kidding.
