C's source deny trade talk.......

A source within the Boston Celtics organization insisted that contrary to reports, the team is not looking to trade point guard Rajon Rondo.

"Can he be frustrating at times? Absolutely. But no one is ready to give up on him," the source said.

"Whoever put the Rondo rumors out there obviously works for someone other than the Celtics."

The source added that the Celtics "are not looking to gut the team" following a 60-win season, which ended in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Orlando Magic.

The source said that the Celtics may have had some "very minor" conversations about Allen, "but he's not likely going anywhere, either."

This is not surprising. What is surprising is that there is a 13 page thread on the first "rumor" (if that is what you call it) of the offseason. People have extremely short term memory. This team won 60+ games and made it to the 7th game of the second round without KG and Powe. Anyone who suggest that this team isn't in the finals and favored to win being healthy isn't being honest with themselves. Anybody can be traded, but good thing our front office isn't panic stricken like many of the posters on here. It is truly amazing to see how people think sometimes.

I'm still not sure why people think we'll be trading anyone significant. Ray will retire here as will KG and Pierce and Rondo is not going any where.

As for "sugar Ray" comment .... there was nothing sweet about his game in the playoffs.

Word..you think Ray is going to retire here?Ehhh..I don't know about all that. And as for the Sugar Ray comment, you must have forgotten 51 pts, and clutch shot after clutch shot against Chicago..yeah the Orlando series was 'EWW'..and we could say the same about Rondo who sucked in round 2...but in the first round Ray was nasty man..

The offseason is boring. Not much else to talk about so it shouldn't be surprising that even a bogus rumor got so many posts. At least it's relevant and interesting.

I don't believe anything these people say. Not that I think they are lying, but that won't say the truth, unless it serves them to. Ainge lies through his teeth all the time. It's like listening to politicians, you can't believe anything they say, so I stopped acknowledging any of it.

Whatever. These "denials" have as much credibility as the original rumor.

I do think it's unlikely any of our core will be traded this offseason, but to think that the phone lines aren't burning up is crazy. One thing about the Ainge era is that you never know what's going to happen, no matter what Ainge or anyone else says.

Ray Allen got us out of the first round almost singlehandedly.

Against the Bulls, only Perk, Pierce, and Davis showed up.

I heard Rondo played well in that series too.

Haha. Rondo was the best player on that series for both teams.

If the "Source" was anyone that mattered, there would be a named individual attributed to the quote. Ainge, Wyc, someone like that would be quoted, not referenced as a "Source". The denial is meaningless.

Anyone is available for the right price except for KG. But Rondo was our best player in the playoffs hands down. The guy was a nut hair away from averaging a triple double.

Connon sense tells you that everyone is tradeable for the right price, but what team(s) really would trade with us to get Rondo khowing we need to get back alot. On top of that what team has the patience to let him develop a jumpshot? I can see Ray Allen traded before Rondo.

Teams that want to rebuild or to get rid of a player who wants out. Like Phoenix, who seems to be putting everybody and their momma on the market.
