globe had article that tim thomas was interested in coming to c's, played with allen.

I think he would be a great sf/pf type player off the bench. Can hit 3, has length.

but dont pierce and he hate each other?

marbury and thomas min. sign birdman or dice to mle. done.

This point in his career he is just a 3 point chucker like Antoine Walker.

BIG NO to Tim Thomas or Antoine Walker.

I say a big NO as well. Also, Celts17Pride, that other name should never be brought up on this board. C'mon, you should know that;)

I think he'd be a valuable addition to the team, if we can get him for next to nothing. Doc doesn't seem like he wants to give Walker and Giddens a chance. Rather then killing Paul and Ray we should bring in a backup vet that can give them some rest.

He reminds me of James Posey in a lot of ways. TT can play 2-3 positions effectively. It all depends on if he has anything left. Because I don't remember him getting many minutes in the Chicago series.

1) Thomas isn't a free agent.
2) His athleticism has long since left him. These days he's solely an outside shooter who doesn't pass. He's like the blacker, more annoying Pat Garrity. If you want that, good luck to you, but you shouldn't.

I thought Thomas looked pretty good in NY last year, but I really doubt he's in Chicago's long term plans. The question would be whether a buyout could be put on the table, since no way the C's pick up his full salary at this point.

He's more than just a three point chucker, IMO, but he doesn't bring enough of what we need to offer much more than the vet minimum.

He's a better option to have off the bench then Tony Allen. That kids confidence was shot when he got injured. I'm sick of seeing him put his head down like a 5 year old whose been put in a timeout.

Pretty hard to sign a guy that is not available. He's not a player the C's should be going after anyways, he plays limited defense. If you want that type of player just go after Charlie V, he's younger and better.

limited defense? Tim Thomas plays no defense whatsoever, no thanks. I'd rather bring Walter McCarty out of retirement than sign Tim Thomas.

Thomas would be an upgrade and present match up problems too. His numbers were pretty good.

OT.....An NBA source said ex-Celtics forward Antoine Walker is in his best shape in years, as he hopes to return to the NBA after being cut by the Grizzlies last season without playing a game. Boston Globe

The Wiggle might come cheap and as always if in shape he too would help the club and would LOVE to come home.

Let the hand wringing begin.......

Nice to see you posting again, D.C. As far as Tim Thomas goes, I'll pass. The guy can't defend and plays him no heart.

I still want us to get Barnes, Ariza, or Moon as Paul's back up.

last time i remember seeing Tim Thomas he looked HUGE. He isnt a free agent so i wonder if he and bulls are talking about a buyout. if he willing to come here for the minimum i wouldnt mind him.

marbury had no heart. he played no defense. and had lost it.

we signed him and he showed flashes, played as good a defense as he could guarding 2 guards and not having a full year to learn our rotations. and he looked to play with heart to me.

sometimes a team makes a player, more then a player makes a team.

for trade checker it looks like thomas for scal and allen works. Not sure why bulls would do it.
