Bored. New trade idea.

BOS trades Scalabrine, Tony Allen & Giddens to SAC for Francisco Garcia

SAC gets cap space and a young player (Giddens)
BOS gets backup wing that can score and opens up two roster spots.

Feel free to input. :D

if freeing up roster space for an average player who might get mins at backup sg because we are so horrible there, not becuase he's good is what u want, then yes, i'd do it.

deal is not horrible, wont hurt our chances of winning another title, and could work out for both sides.

Not a bad trade for us, Garcia is a solid back-up. I like giddens potential a lot, but production is more important to this team than potential, this is another one though that seems like a team taking on our projects and token white guy in exchange for a decent player. Not sure why Sacramento would do this. Not bad though, more realistic than most of the ideas that pop up around here.

Garcia's contract: $5,800,000, $5,500,000, $5,800,000, $6,100,000,$6,400,000

The last year is a team option. If we wanted to add a bad contract were better off getting Posey back. At least Posey is battle tested.

Garcia is younger.

No thanks, Garcia hasn't done anything meaningful he just puts up meh stats on an expansion quality roster and playing bad defense.

Tony Allen puts up meh stats but at least he plays great defense and is cheaper.

Giddens has a chance to be as good as Tony Allen defensively a better offensive player and a impact rebounder.

Wow that contracts terrible.

I'd pass on the this quickly, it really hurts our trade flexibility.

I personally think this would be a nice addition for the team. Garcia can play the 2 and the 3, he's a solid defender, solid shooter and is actually solid playmaker for his teammates. Basically he's comparable to Pietrus and its just a mid level contract (same as Pietrus and Posey) for a guy who'll only be going into his 4th year (he's already 27 years old however).

I think its a no brainer for us, you'd basically just have to hope the Kings are desperate to get out of a longer term deal because we'd be giving them nothing essentially.

Garcia's shot selection isn't always solid based on what I've read from a Kings fan or two, and the overall statistical picture would support that notion.

Like Ron Mercer, Garcia was a product of Rick Pitino. How many quality, unslefish pros has Rick Pitino ever outputted?

Otherwise I would be inclined to have a decent opinion of him. His shooting ability is solid and I am under the impression he at least plays defense. I'd rather go for McCants whose value is much lower. Supposedly selfish, but also a very good (though streaky) shooter who is willing to play D and comes from UNC rather than Pitino.
