I'm a Rockets fan and I have tremendous respect for the Celtics. I have no doubt that one of these two teams will win next season. The Lakers will not repeat.

Agreed---Ainge & co. set us up to FAIL this year--regardless of the KG injury...I certainly hope they take next season seriously----Cause that WEAK excuse of an off season last year will NOT cut it again, with all these teams improving....We were WAY too thin to expect a repeat.

This Orlando team is the WEAKEST Finalist in a LOONNNNGGG time.

I went to the gen. NBA board to say congrats. I am not gonna be a bitter fan, and put an asterisk on their championship. They earned it.

But, with that being said. :( this sucks seeing them win.

And LOL at Phil. Talks about the team, yet is wearing a roman numeral x hat instead of 2009 Lakers championship hat.

Just goes to show we need to go balls out next season. We can't make the same mistake and hope everyone's healthy at the end of the season - WE NEED DEPTH!!! These guys are getting older, and are more prone to breaking down. I have serious reservations about whether KG can stay healthy from this point on.

Well unless we won it this year, I'd be upset about our off-season and the support put around the Celtics last year.

Horrible HORRIBLE offseason for a defending champion. Our stock would never be higher then it was then and we got out bought and out done on min vet deals for players that could of greatly helped us.

We didn't rape as much as a Gasol trade did or the Mo Williams deal did... but we still made our great trade, and we should go balls to the walls to support this team.

It sickens me to think that LA owners arn't being talked about because Odom is considered a lock to be re-signed and the media doesn't have much doutb about Ariza either.... meanwhile we can't keep a roleplaying stud like Posey because of our finances nor do we spend the full MLE on an impact guy.

Our team need bench support and help... and I hope we deliever!

As a Laker fan, I hope you guys improve.

I don't think this championship means as much as since we didn't beat the best.

I agree. Wallace besides Isiah Thomas maybe the worst GM in the history of the NBA. This dope traded for Vin Baker, traded Joe Johnson a future all star and a first round pick that could have been Boozer for 2 vets that werent putting us over the top to beat LA with Shaq and Kobe in 02, drafted Kedrick Brown and Joe Forte, and to top it all off he traded Gasol for pure crap!

I HATE CHRIS WALLACE!!!!!!

They deserved it...and they gave the pretenders the beating they would have gotten from Boston if we were healthy. Everybody here knew, when they faced a better D, their 3's wouldn't fall, and they would crumble up in a ball with their bush league PG, those choke artists Lewis + Turk and their weak ass bench(Gortat and Battie suck..Pietrus is the only one good there)..

Congrats to the Lakers and Kobe..dude is nasty..not better than LeBron but still nasty..lol :)

so the man wins 10 championships with atleast 4 with 2 different franchises, and you can't give him the rightful respect he deserves? I'm a Bulls fan, so I'm impartial to the Boston/LA banner rivalry or whatever, but I think Phil has earned his spot in history as the greatest coach of all time

Yeah, I think the Lakers would've preferred (deep down) to have won the championship by going through Boston. Ditto for Cleveland if they'd won it. Only for Cleveland, LeBron and teammates preferred to face Boston knowing that the team wasn't nearly as good without Garnett and Powe, and a not so healthy team. Conversely, Orlando presented mismatches that Cleveland rather not wanted to adjust to. However, Boston was a victim of their lack of real depth and inconsistent bench play compared to last season's bench. Backup players had their roles changed due to injuries. Some stepped up, and others didn't do so or the opportunities weren't there. No trust in the reserves as a whole. Facing pressure, Rivers had to improvise and lean on certain starters too much.

The one thing I like is that Cleveland didn't get the satisfaction of taking advantage of a less than 100% team in Boston. What I dislike is that Boston did little wrong (Ainge had a uninspiring year drafting and signing) to deserve not to defend the NBA championship they'd won last season. No blame goes to Garnett, the team didn't overcome adversity. For all of Rondo's effort, his continued inability to shoot and make timely shots (or even attempt them) from the perimeter with regularly is what stood out. And Ainge bleeped up... Yes, they'd pushed Orlando to seven games in the second round, but how much of that was the fault of Orlando? Regardless, the Magic still managed to put it altogether and win the series. But, look what happened when they'd faced a Lakers team healthy, and without the same deficiencies as Boston. You run out of excuses.
