McHale in Boston?

Post#1 » by Rocky5000 » Wed Jun 17, 2009 5:05 pm

Since Kevin got the axe today and it appears he won't be staying on with the Timberwolves in any capacity, do you think he's likely to end up as part of the Celtics' Organization again?

Don't know, but I sure wish him the best. He'll always be a favorite of mine. I just loved those 80s Celtics.

I would like to see him have some sort of role in this organization.

Too bad he got fired from Minny.

Maybe in time. With all the ridiculous conspiracy theories floating around post-KG, i.e. Mark Cuban suggesting that the Wolves passed up on better offers because of McHale's relationship with DA, it just wouldn't look good.

I read on ESPN that USC is looking for a coach with pro experience. Not sure if Kevin would be interested but I imagine he'll certainly get consideration.

With McHale being a Minnesota guy, I just can't imagine him enjoying living in LA.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kevin work for the C's, as long as it wasn't in the front office or as a coach...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Well, so many times the internet is such an impersonal means of communication. Just usually a fake screen name without a face to go with it.

Me, I opted to use my real name and a real picture of me.

No one has ever been able to say what those better offers were. At last check, Boston supplied the TWolves with 4 of their five starters, Telfair(marginal), Foye, Gomes and Jefferson.

no .... huge no

any role he is given in the organization increases the chance of him being given a role in charge of player movement

he was the worst GM the league has seen, if we didnt have a big man coach as good as clifford maybe, but otherwise keep the memories but dont bring him back

Seconded!

But as noted above, we have one of the other outstanding big-man coaches already.

WORST GM?....sorry brother---it HAS to be Chris Wallace......I still can't believe that POS traded Gasol to the Lakers for practically nothing-----OBVIOUSLY Jerry West orchestrated this deal from the inside---I mean c'mon-THE Laker/THE Logo...working in Memphis----GIVES the job to Wallace in a wink wink deal---so Wallace can then ship the BEST player they have to the Lakers--to counter the KG deal....Even the FRIGGIN OWNER of the Grizzlies said afterward--that they traded Gasol WAY too soon without even listening to other offers---a full 3-4 weeks before the trade deadline....YES, I'm bitter---But the Lakers barely sniff the playoffs without this GIFT-WRAPPED Trade.--let alone TWO Finals appearances (and counting) and this year's Trophy--GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.!!!

Seriously... from someone who followed Kg's entire career, and probably knew as much about the wovles as anybody at the time, hes the worst

hell... Wallace even managed to get Mayo off him, and Mchale got back a player that plays the same position as big Al

he traded Roy for Foye
He signed Hudson, James, Jaric and countless others to horrible deals
lost 4-5 draft picks for the Joe smith mess

and failed to put a competitive team around a top 3 player in the game for over a decade

keep this guy away from any team i remotely like... let alone my celtics

yeah, I know McHale sucks as a GM....but I just had to vent one more time about how the Lakers were GIVEN Pau Gasol-----it HAD to be a CROOKED insider deal from Jerry West.
