OT: Memphis owner growing impatient with Chris Wallace

The Memphis Grizzlies are trying to talk tough, saying they’re unafraid to draft Ricky Rubio with the No. 2 pick in the NBA draft, but no one believes them.
Nevertheless, Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace finds himself in a tough spot. He has a volatile owner, Michael Heisley, puffing out his chest, and a player agent, Dan Fegan, threatening to embarrass the franchise should it try to take Rubio.
Apparently, Heisley has been as impatient as ever with Wallace. This ebbs and flows, but league sources say Pau Gasol’s marvelous play in the Los Angeles Lakers’ championship run has Heisley coming down on Wallace all over again for last year’s trade. Of course, Heisley pushed for the lousy Lakers deal, but that’s been lost in the revisionist history.
The Sacramento Kings had been the most likely team to cut a deal with Memphis to move into the second spot to take Rubio, but league sources say the Kings’ motivation to do so has waned. The Kings don’t want to give up Jason Thompson and their fourth pick to get to No. 2, especially considering there’s a chance Rubio could drop to Sacramento anyway. Fegan has no issues with Rubio in Oklahoma City or Sacramento, but he’ll be difficult if the point guard ends up in Memphis.
Minnesota’s offer of a package that includes Kevin Love and a first-round pick intrigues Wallace too, sources say.
Wallace is enamored with University of Memphis freshman Tyreke Evans but thinks he could move down and still draft him. Nothing happens in this draft until the Grizzlies make a decision; then the dominos will start to fall.

Lakers should mail Wallace a championship ring.
Also the owners are just as big as idiots as he is. Look at the stupid trades he made when he was with the Celtics yet they still hired him.

Jerry West basically "hired" Chris Wallace to take his place in Memphis----under the provision that he Trade Gasol to the Lakers for peanuts...How else do you think the Lakers got him?-----the GENIUS of Mitch Kupchak??...........NO, the GENIUS of Jerry West---the MAIN reason for the past 9 Banners that the Lakers have won...Everyone going around Kissing Phil Jackson's Butt----but NOBODY giving credit where it's REALLY due.

This dude really speaks publically? Umm, guy, that team has been in a downward spiral since that 50-win season, way to notice finally what any casual fan could have told you years ago.

At least the owner figured out Wallace is an R-tard before the T'wolves owner figured out Herman Munster didn't have a GM's brain.

Unfortunately, even if the Lakers gave up someone with trade value back then (Bynum), they still would have won the title due to the injuries of Boston & Houston.

The C's wouldn't have gotten past the Cavs either way and the Lakers play the Rockets w/ Yao better than they do without him (they were 6-1 against them w/ Yao in 09). And when ISN'T he injured?

How ironic if Memphis is able to reacquire Love when they'd drafted him to begin with. Makes sense to me, he immediately fills a need at power forward. And with Minnesota's sixth pick (I assume it's for their sixth pick), Evans likely will still be available. This is the deal to do if I'm Wallace and Minnesota's in agreement. With the second pick, Minnesota can select Thabeet to allow Jefferson to play power forward regularly.
Grizzlies
PF - Love or Arthur
SF - Gay
C - Gasol
PG - Conley, Jr. or Mayo
SG - Mayo or Evans
Timberwolves
PF - Jefferson
SF - Gomes or Brewer
C - Thabeet
PG - Foye or Telfair
SG - Miller
