.....that RA and Rondo were being packaged, what would your ideal return be. Please name specific players/deals, and keep the "it's not going to happen" stuff out.

Amare, Barbosa and the 14th pick.

Chris Paul, Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose or Deron Williams for me. Never going to happen but if we are are going to give up a point guard with Rondo's potential plus a 20 million dollar expiring contract we had better get a bonafide All Star point guard back.

If we trade our All Star level back court in one go then we better not be doing it for players like Amare or Bosh. We don't need a 4 or 5, we would need to replace the backcourt.

Guys, you don't always need a super all star point guard to win titles. Most of the time its the big guy or God like shooting guard that does it.

KG, Amare, Perk = 18 + 19

There is nobody in the league that could stop these big guys. Plus if 1 goes down we still have 2 other great bigs.

I think if we are keeping Garnett and Perkins then who starts in that situation? I am fairly sure at the stage in their careers they are at, all three of them are not going to be happy with the idea of coming off the bench. And why would you break up the best defensive 4/5 combination in the league?

Who is our shooting guard. Paul Pierce can not play shooting guard so what does that leave us with? A back court of Barbosa, Tony Allen, Eddie House and possibly Marbury? And still no back up for Pierce? Yuck, that is not looking to crash hot.

I know you don't need an All Star point guard to win titles, but the post asks who would you want back and I don't want a power forward, I would want an All Star point guard or a shooting guard and a decent back up 3. I love Deron Williams game and would love to see him in the green.

Again this is assuming Garnett returns healthy. If his knee is no good then all bets are off and we might need to look at other options.

Amare, Barbosa and #14..

Sign Iverson with the MLE

If they get Amare, they should look to deal Perkins. Perhaps, Perkins, TA, Scals and Giddens for #12, Bell & Diaw.

Ainge can bring in some young talent with #12 & #14. Bell & Diaw are two solid defenders, and have teamed with Barbosa and Amare. Bell's one of few guys who really gets under Kobe's skin...

Lineup: Amare, KG, Pierce, Bell, AI
Bench: Diaw, Walker, Barbosa, #12, #14, Powe, ????

Truthfully the two guys i would want back would be either wade or kevin durant

realistically i guess the only packages that even would come close to making sense for both teams would be dealing them to somewhere like:

new orleans for posey, chandler, and paul

to portland for oden, outlaw, webster, blake, bayliss, and their number 24 pick (and im not sure if id make this trade if im danny)

to atlanta for joe johnson horford and acie law (i doubt atlanta would do that)

to golden state for stephen jackson, anthony randolph, marco belinelli, brandan wright, and monte ellis/ or corey maggette

to indiana for ford, granger, rush, daniels, and maybe their pick

to minnesota for big al, mike miller, randy foye, and ryan gomes

to philly for speights, young, iggy, elton, and the 17th pick

in all honesty im not in love with any of those trades, and i dont think danny or the other teams gms would be either, so why this is sort of fun id rather just stay put and build are bench to try to win a championship next year

I think you are dreaming on every one of those trades unfortunately, who in their right mind will give up that many good players for Rondo and Ray? We maybe get one of the good players and some garbage with them, not 3, 4 or 5 of their better players and young talent.

I would do every single one of those trades I think.

I know this is just the Al Jefferson fan in me, but I'd take Big Al + #6 pick in the draft. I'm not sure if that works out salary wise, if not then any filler that's needed can be added in, preferably if that filler is Randy Foye or Ryan Gomes.

Other than that, just the obvious ones, in Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade. I don't think I'd do it for Rose though, he might be great someday, but as it stands, he was outplayed by Rondo in the playoffs.

Mhm..You think New Orl. would give up Paul, Posey AND Chandler for an aging SG, and a PG who has only played well when he had Paul, KG and Ray by his side?? No way..all your trades are horrible for the other teams. And how could you not love any of those?? Wow..IMO, If some drunk GM called us, and offered any of those trades, we would have to jump all over it.

I think the best we could do with the Ray+Rondo package would be Amare+Barbosa..maybe Amare and J-Rich..2nd best would be Ray+Rondo for Chris Bosh+filler, if Toronto got really desperate. Only way we get an Wade, CP3, Durant player would be adding KG into a trade..but that's not happening. If I'm Danny, and I really want to get rid of Ray's contract, I'd push hard for Amare...but like you said, i'd rather stay put and build around what we have. Our starting 5 + House, Marbury and some FA's, can win some championships.

why would any of these teams give up their whole team for Rondo and Ray? am I missing something?

What about Ray, Rondo, and Tony Allen to the Clippers for Baron Davis, Marcus Camby, and Al Thorton? Or Eric Gordon instead of Thorton?

32 minutes apiece, regardless of who starts--but likely an issue we won't be facing.
