As long as we aren't giving up too much I'm all for it.

Who does Ainge like at 9 or 11? Evans and Harden won't be around..

I think Memphis and Sacramento would be the most likely trade partners. They've got some solid roleplayers to put with the picks. Hawes, Thompson, Darko, etc.

You never know, there's always slippers in the draft. NBAdraft.net has Evans at 12 in their mock draft.

If we were dealing for the 11th pick we'd probably have to take Vince Carter's big contract to get it.

^^That is a good point Cfan. So Ray would have to be involved in that deal.

I would like a deal like this muuuch better then the twolves deal. You get a young guy to build your future around. Then you sign the FA you want. That is unless you do have to take on vinces contract.

Vince actually wouldn't be that bad if he decides to try. Rondo or whoever we get for the point guard spot (Jkidd) will have a field day passing to Carter.

I wonder if the Nets would be interested in this package?

Carter, D.Harris and 11th pick

for

Ray Allen and Rondo

Harris might be insulted by the trade rumors.

Assuming ainge is messing with this championship team, I would do that trade in a second.

Harris > Rondo
Carter < Ray
11th pick > nothing

And of course Ainge is in the Globe today saying he doesn't expect anything to happen and he likes the free agent crop much better than the draft.

ugh, yeah I'd have to make the deal, and I believe ainge would get a hell of a 3/4 to pester lebron w/ at the 11 spot, but we'd also be giving NJ all the opportunity in the world to bring Bron into our division.

I think i'd vomit in my mouth a little w/ the thought of trading out two guys I love for those two though...

NJ has Harris on a good deal til 2012-13. Can't see them wanting to deal with Rondo's asking price.. So maybe Carter, #11 and Yi for Ray and future pick..

Would be a good deal for us- don't see why NJ would do it though.

Harris is better than Rondo (though one day I think Rondo will surpass him), Carter is better than Ray, and we get the 11th pick...

Carter's and Pierce's styles of play conflict more than Allen and Pierce- but still worth it...

NJ clears Carter's deal in 2010/11.

I would say there is a 99% chance Ainge does not make a trade.

I don't think Harris is better than Rondo. Harris scores more and shoots from the outside better but that's it. Rondo is a better rebounder, defender, playmaker, percentage shooter, and floor general.

How 'bout keeping him?

I like the other trade though. Jersey will be doing everything for money and cap reasons right now.

As in big trade?

I would say there is a good chance ainge makes a small one. Tinker around to get back into the first, or even early 2nd.

I can see TMac for Carter, contract fillers and the #11 going down...

Danny hasn't gone through a draft since 2005 without making at least a small move. Even last year, we ended up buying Bill Walker.
2009 (Pick already traded) + ...
2008 Cash for Walker
2007 Ray Allen + Big Baby for our pick, Delonte, and Wally
2006 #7 + Raef for Telfair + Ratliff, traded Cleveland pick for Rondo
2005 Gerald Green...but tried to trade up to grab CP3
2004 No draft day trades, but earlier trades setup 3 first round picks, Tony, Delonte, and Big Al.

He also did the Memphis trade the year before: Perkins and Banks for Jones and Bell.
