The Washington Wizards have acquired Minnesota Timberwolves Randy Foye and Mike Miller in exchange for Etan Thomas, Oleksiy Pecherov and Darius Songaila and the fifth overall pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, a league executive with knowledge of the deal told Yahoo! Sports.

Thats a solid deal from both sides... Foye is a great pairing with Arenas in the back court IMO, both being able to play the 1 and 2

They still need some defense

Minny gets another young guy in the draft, lets see how the new GM handles it before a grade can be given on the trade...

I think this is a steal for Minni. Mccants, Gomes, and Brewer is their future at the 2 and 3, IMO. I think they're gona try and draft a pg.

Wizards have a lot of depth.

PG - Arenas
SG - Miller
SF - Butler
PF - Jamison
C - Haywood

Bench:

PG - James/Critter/Foye
SG - Young/Stevenson
SF - McGuire
PF - Blatche
C - McGee

They are going to be tough. Must be another deal coming.

Minnesota needs a center... I would do a deal for Kaman, if I were Minnesota. But, I thought that I'd read the rumor involved Love, not Miller.

The Wolves insist to me that they're not looking to trade Al Jefferson and Kevin Love right now, despite rumors to the contrary.

And the rumored Chris Kaman for Mike Miller trade? Sources in both L.A. and Minnesota shot it down quickly. It turns out that the Wolves did call the Clippers several months ago about the deal (before Kahn had the job), but the Clippers wanted a first-round pick from Minnesota as well ... something the Wolves balked at.

But it is true that the Wolves are trying to deal. They have other assets that could make them an attractive trade partner. Miller is in the last year of his contract. Randy Foye interests a few teams. And they have picks 6, 18, 28, 45 and 47 in this year's draft.

Ideally, the Wolves will find a way to get up to the No. 2 pick to select either Hasheem Thabeet or Ricky Rubio. If the Wolves stay at No. 6, I think they'll take either Stephen Curry or Tyreke Evans.

Good deal for both teams.

East just got tougher. If Was trade Jamison for a good defender/role-player at the 4, watch out. They challenge any of the top 3 teams.

Better hope KG comes back FULLY healthy, or it might be a tough season.

LOL! i really hope no one is scared of Foye and Miller, and I'm actually glad washington lost Songo and Thomas, they don't have the beefy, tough front court anymore, just a cluster of guys looking to get theirs, the epitome being arenas and mike james.

Lets not get carried away. They got a couple of decent contributors, and still can't play defense. On top of that, Arenas hasn't been healthy in years.

Oh, naturally, health determines everything. Plus, i can't see Was not doing a follow up trade; they're too stacked on the wings and to thin up front. Logic says they trade a wing or two for big man help.
