Wouldnt it be logical If Danny Trades Rondo, Say to Memphis for Gay and Conley

That he uses the MLE to sign Iverson

Maybe Use Conley to trade for a backup Center

Iverson/Marbury
Allen/House
Pierce/Gay
KG/Glen Davis
Perkins/Trade/Mcdyess?

In that scenario the MLE would be better served on Bibby/Miller/Kidd..

Iverson would be a great bench player for us backing up rondo and ray with the team as is, unfortunately he just cant adjust his game so at this point we will be avoiding AI

Yeah, I think if we trade Rondo for a different young point guard project (e.g. Conley, Rubio), it means we can get a veteran in free agency to run the team and groom his successor- Iverson or Kidd or Bibby or Miller.

The guy I think Danny will target, should we find ourselves looking for a vet pg via the mle, is Kidd. As much as I hate em, he and Danny do have a track record, moreso than Iverson atleast.

I think Kidd either remains with Dallas or signs with Cleveland. I can see Bibby remaining with Atlanta or, perhaps, signing with Portland. Portland wants a veteran point guard, but could opt for a young one instead via the draft. Andre Miller is the veteran who makes sense signing with Boston if Rondo's traded. Conversely, Iverson has "bad idea" written all over him. I like him (always have) but don't like his fit with Boston. That is, not as a starting point guard. He needs to be a scorer, that's what he is.

Also, Boston fans are mixed on Kidd and Bibby. Especially, with Bibby having an unfavorable opinion of Celtic fans last post season. I'll like to remind Bibby, ask him what were his former fans up in Vancouver like when he was there. Because I don't recall the Canadian Grizzles having a winning season (try well below .500 every season) prior to moving to the US.

Bibby called Boston's backers "fair weather" fans who jumped on the "bandwagon" when the Celtics grew from one of the NBA's worst teams last season into the one with the best record in the league this season.

"I wouldn't say it's the smartest comment," Kevin Garnett said Tuesday.

"I remember them having bags on their heads," he said. "Are they the ones that had bags on their heads last year? It's just a different look, but I guess that happens when you win."

If we trade Rondo for Iverson, you can kiss any hope of a title (hell, even a deep playoff run) good bye. the guy is a loser and a horrid teammate...

I think we would rather have a Conley/Starbury tandem. Remember when Ainge talked about why he resigned Pierce. It was because he busted out his tooth - but came back and played right away. He was like he wanted to resign a warrior like that.

Rondo OTOH shows up late (and you guys can't flame me for that comment anymore) becaues he supposedly sits in his car and has his "pre-game ritual".. I quite frankly think Ainge got ticked off. I think he is ticked off when he is talking bad about Rondo in the press. I think he is ticked off about Rondo's interview and how he tried to make it seem like he just has different "habits" then other players when in fact he was tardy..

I think the Iverson allure was lost after he sunk the Pistons this year..

Iverson would be different with Pierce, KG and Allen around him. He isn't going to quit on these guys. Nobody quits on KG and gets away with it..if he came here, you could bet it would be because the Big 3 gave Danny the thumbs up, and AI committed to TEAM BASKETBALL...and Marbury would not stay if Iverson came..I don't see that happening..

Iverson and Marbury on the same team! Don't you think those two might clash just a little bit?

i agree with Pete. If we do in fact trade Rondo to Memphis I would rather Conley/Marbury then Iverson.... by a wide margin to be honest.

The Pistons had a core group of respected veterans and it didn't seem to work for them.

I think you can quit on KG..He has some leadership qualities - absolutely. But its not like you can just bring in all the problem players of the NBA and he will magically fix them. Ainge is willing to try some riskier players like Marbury but there are limits.

Forget Iverson. Just re-sign Marbury if we trade Rondo. Marbury with full training camp gives us four unstoppable options on offense. And he's not bad on D either. And for Rondo, we need to get a blue chip prospect or two back in a trade. Then, we're set to compete for a championship now and transition into the future. It's a win-win.

Yuhp yuhp..and I think Marbury is the better PG..so we should keep him instead of signing Iverson..

Let's be real...anybody watching Detroits last 20 games of the season saw, that not only Iverson quit on them, but they quit on themselves...the way they got stomped by Cleveland, without puttin up a fight was pathetic. They had 5 guys from a championship team..4 starters of a championship team, and just layed eggs on the floor all series long. But I agree..the team as is, has amazing respect and chemistry..specially the starting 5. Marbury is enough of a risk, no need for Iverson to come in here too..only way I'd like AI here is if we traded Ray..then I could see Iverson coming here and starting at the 2, and just playing to score like he wants.
