Thanks for the heads up, Kefa. I only caught the last couple of minutes...
- Ainge has thought about offering McHale a job, but now is not the time and he thinks the next step for him is TV.
- Says the draft party will be fun if you're an NBA fan, not so much if you're a Celtics fan.
We'll see if he is lying or not on that last point tomorrow night...

Celtics are good but I don't think they can win 4 on 5.

Hmmm, sounds like the negative news about Rondo is starting to leak out. Is Danny getting ready for contract negotiations, or is Rondo really on his way out? Oh man, I'm on the edge of my seat right now.

Ah ha. So I wasn't off base in calling Rondo late. <g> I knew something was up when that reported called him late but all I got around here was flack.

where there's smoke there's fire, this is really starting to look like Ricky D part 2, and as I recall the forum went from considering Davis the perfect teammate to complete d-bag within hours of him being traded

The weird part about this info leaking out now is this: when Ricky was traded, we didn't hear about the negative stuff until
after the trade was announced.
This info on Rondo is starting to come out now, so it may be Ainge's way of lowering Rondo's value during contract negotiations. You'd think that Ainge wouldn't say anything bad about Rondo now in order to keep his trade value high around the league.

Can all the Rondo apologists apologize to me and others? Rondo has out worn his welcome, and I anticipate him heading if not tomorrow, then this summer.

I wouldn't put it past rival gms who heard rumblings from players to leak this to lower rondo's value in potential trades... there's a lot of truthiness out there, and I still contend rondo is quite well received by the Big 3, he did play a huge part in getting the old timers their first ring after all

Thats how I remember it going down too (RE: the ricky trade). I didnt post much then (still dont compared to a lot of you guys), but I was a lurker for what seems like years before I joined, and I never saw people turn so quick on someone as Ricky D.
It went from "he's really buying into the team concept" and "he's doing a great job accepting his reserve role off the bench" and "it is a travesty if he doesnt win the 6th man of the year award" to "well we had to get rid of him for chemistry", "he's lazy", "he parties too much", "he's a lockerroom cancer."
I know homerism is rampant on any board, but let's not use trade whispers to start rationalizing why Danny is getting rid of Rondo before it happens.
I will go on the record now saying that I love what Rondo brings to the team, I like that he he has some swagger (even though he can come off as arrogant or cocky), and I will be very disappointed if he is moved.
Obviously if the deal blows me away and I think we are a better team after its made, then I wont be a hater. But Rondo is my favorite celtic, everyone was loving him during the bulls series, and now everyone is ready to kick him off the team because of a few pre-draft rumors that will probably never come to fruition?!? Lets all take a deep breath and wait until Friday morning.
My prediction is, he isn't moved during the draft and all the same people ready to throw him off the team will be saying "well, Danny knows what he is doing, he must not have been able to get enough for him to make it worth it, if Danny sees a future in him I am on board."
In general, I am in the camp where I admit that Danny obviously knows what he is doing more than I do, but not so much that I will rationalize a way to like what he does no matter what. If Rondo is traded and we get anything less than a star player in return, I will be disappointed.
Quit flip flopping, I want to see the people that want him out of town to show just as much disappointment when he is still here on Friday as I would've if he got traded. Basically, if you are a Rondo hater now, continue your hating whether we keep him or not, don't just hate on him because you think Danny isnt sold on him and then completely flip flop if he isnt moved.

Its not flopping. Its recognizing the economic realities of the NBA. Rondo is OUT OF THIS WORLD at 2 or 3 million dollars (whatever his salary is). But he is net negative at near max, IMHO. I suspect Danny feels the same way hence the trade attempt(s).
But if he signs him for what looks like a good price you can't expect me to "hate" on him just because I think it might make sense to trade him now. Its not about Rondo the player. It's about what is good for the team overall.
All this being said I really get the feelilng the C's at this point aren't that excited about signing him even at a "fair" price.. which makes me worry a bit. It's kinda like Danny and Doc are mad at him but they don't want to say anything and screw things up..
But they just can't quite help it. Its like a guy trying to sell his ex-wife to a new man so he can get out of alimony.

Really? I know sometimes sarcasm is hard to detect in type, but c'mon. You really think Rondo has worn out his welcome? Funny how this opinion was never talked about by anyone until a week or so ago. Yeah, I'll apologize to you, right after we go down Basken Robbins so you can try another flavor of the day.

Reading those (pretty harsh) quotes make me think Rondo ain't going anywhere.
You don't bash a player publicly if you're trying to trade him.
He's just lighting a fire under his skinny @ss.

Unless you already traded him and it won't be announced until the draft.

No kidding...his value is at an all-time high...maybe they're trashing him so his value is low enough that he'll have to take a lower contract?

Yep. It's one or the other and we won't know until tomorrow night.
