I think that is on the outer limits of reasonable. I'm fine with it. Devin Harris-type contract (he got 5/45 iirc, while still not a full-time starter).
I'm not so much concerned with that as I am why Rondo would even say this. Why would any player say this? It makes no sense to me.
Unless it points to what Kefa said: a Rondo trade is imminent. There are two possible reasons why all this Rondo drama/criticism is going on:
1) Light fire under him/lower his contract demands
or
2) There's an unofficial Rondo trade on hold pending an extension for the obvious reason that the new team wouldn't want just a 1-year rental. Ainge, as a way to ensure the deal is getting done, attempts to lower Rondo's extension value. Otherwise, why the timing? All this stuff magically comes out about Rondo within 48 hours of the draft?
This new wrinkle fits into Theory 2 better than Theory 1. Why would Rondo (or any player for that matter) publicly discuss what they're willing to accept before negotiations even start? I've never heard of that.
