Some interesting info on Tyreke Evans

Post#1 » by GreenDreamer » Fri Jun 26, 2009 10:37 am

It turns out that the object of Danny's love was at the wheel in a drive-by killing a few years ago. Yep. Rondo has a bad attitude, so let's get Tyreke in here to settle things down.

Hey, at least he and Tony will have something in common.

He didn't have anything to do with the shooting.

He was driving the car. That is by definition "having something to do with the shooting." That fact isn't being denied by anyone. The question is "Was he a knowing accomplice in the shooting?" The official version is that he didn't. In reality he very well could have known, but his cousin could have fallen on his sword and completely clammed up, knowing that he was doomed anyways, so why take his cousin with him. Maybe he was truly innocent, but this isn't some kid smoking weed or even stealing labtops we are talking about here, this was a homicide.

Or you could just google the kids name and read the artlicle from two years ago.

As sad as it is I don't think we would have an NBA if you didn't take guys who witnessed a murder or had a relative convicted of one.

Well, I guess that you weren't going to hear a countertestimony from Reason. The kid probably didn't know what exactly was happening, but the story just rings false to me. Not that he was necessarily an accomplice, but that it just doesn't make too much sense as a whole. I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't have known that his cousin was carrying, for example, but that he saw his cousin put the gun away only after the shooting, like it was something that he had never seen before. The whole thing about "evidence" from the authorities says it all. They didn't have anything concrete on him.

Pros: Athletic, good court vision, has a knack for setting up shooters.
Cons: Snitches on family to the police.

Seriously though, I don't like him as a player but I doubt he knew what was going on. If someone gets in your car, fatally shoots someone, and then tells you to drive, you're going to drive. The fact that he went straight to the police afterwards suggests that he didn't have anything to do with it.

My guess is that you haven't spent a ton of time in PHI if you think you would know who is carrying and when.

I work with inner city kids and trust me the options they have and choices they face suck. **** like this happens every damn day the only thing that makes it special is that Tyreke Evans is a basketball star. You can choose to believe everyone is lying but these are generally the circumstances that cause a 16 year old kid to have a gun and use it. Not some elaborate plan or scheme but a "holy **** he has a gun" and nobody knows the hell why. But I guess it is more likely that he and his cousin planned to shoot someone in front of his aunt's house from his own car.

His cousin turned himself in and confessed and then Evans was questioned and cleared.

Kind of a cheapshot...no?

I mean, so what, we didn't trade for him, let it go.

This was his cousin, man. Do you honestly think that he wouldn't know if that guy wasn't packing? Not just some guy from the neighborhood.

I read it that they were saying that the other guy had a gun, as if it was a self defense shooting, which it very well could have been. What they did do was haul ass out of there after the shooting, and ino I don't expect them to be great at planning. Who the hell knows what was going on in their heads?

It is a **** world. I've been present at a murder myself. Not fun stuff. Just a lot of blood and tears.

Well, I think we can safely say that if Boston DID somehow end up with Evans, it would be after a serious investigation into his character. I mean this is a business, you KNOW they are evaluating their assets or their potential assets before acquisition.

I guess he might know if he had one but no I don't see why he would know if he had a gun on him at the moment he jumped in his car.

It is what it is and you want to seem to make it something else. If it was one of a dozen things I would be concerned, if it was his gun I would be more concerned, but it seems like something that happened 2 years ago and since his family has done what it had to do to insulate him from these situations.

Damn you know a guy is off the deep end if he is attacking players who might compete with the Rondo. LMAO. We didn't even trade for the guy!
