Villanueva to CLE?

From the bucks board:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=919929Bucks didn`t extend QO to Villanueva so he is an unrestricted free agent...great pick up for the cavs if true. He will be perfect for their system as a shooting PF...he doesn`t play defense but he fits nicely with them, IMO...
Why the bucks didn˙t extend QO to him is a mystery however...it just doesn`t make much sense...

Is there a link saying he's going to the Cavs?

No link but he's been all about going to the Cavs. Hopefully for his sake they are actually interested in him.
If not, I'd welcome him here.

One reason he won't come to Boston..........he will be guaranteed a starting spot by Cleveland.

LeBron playing the 2 guard spot instead of Delonte so Charlie V plays SF? Or he plays PF and Varejao comes off the bench?

Shaq & CV = No Defense

Not a big fan. I would rather get Sheed or McDyess (figuring he gets a shorter contract). Mo + CV + Shaq in the starting line-up = Cleveland isn't a top defensive team anymore.

It stinks to high heaven..........it makes no business sense........if it looks nasty...maybe it's nasty....

I guess. It'd be nice to have another young guy on the team with experience producingc off the bench already. McDyess is an injury waiting to happen, and it seems from rumors that Sheed is only interested in Cle or SAS.

Cleveland can only offer him MLE money. I'd be surprised if someone doesn't offer him more...in the $7M range. He's only 24 and this is his first chance for serious money.

Haha if the Cavs start Villanueva there's no way they finish with the best record again. In fact, with a Shaq/Villanueva front court I can see a healthy Wizards finishing with a better record than them.

Villanueva's the ultimate style over substance pick-up. He might be a nice player once in a while, but not when there are options like Dice, Sheed, Gortat and Pachulia on the table: real big men. Picking up the poor man's Chris Bosh when Dale Davis and Sam Perkins clones are available doesn't make sense for a contender. Go for the known quantity unless the unharnessed potential is a real bargain (or there's nothing else available.)

I agree Villanueva seems like the type that will only be a good player on a bad team. CKinf of DAn Dickau syndrome in that if you give him the leeway of a first option he will look ok but if you relegate him to 3rd option he doesn't play nearly as well.

Cleveland wants Villanueva because Drew Gooden worked out for them so well the first time around?
