House to stay with Celtics!

Celtics guard Eddie House, after a long deliberation that pushed his decision to today’s deadline, decided to exercise his player option and will remain with the team for next season.

As a result, the nine-year veteran will roam the 3-point line to the tune of approximately $2.9 million next season.

Smart move once he realized no one was going to pay him $2.9 million.

Good news, Marbury looks like he may be coming back as well....the two of them had some chemistry developing late in the year.

That's too bad. We can find a better SG for 2.9mil than Eddie House.

He is trade fodder.

I am glad he is back! We need his shooting and his contract is also OK. And he is expiring, so we can include him in a trade. He is a nice asset...

There are only so many holes we can will in free agency, we needed to retain some of our main bench guys... including eddie, so this is good news IMO

Good- for chemistry purposes and knowing his role on the team-Eddie fits in just fine.

But not on a year deal. He is going to get squeezed for mins if Sheed and Marbury are here anyhow and we need those 3's.

I'm glad Eddie is staying around. He's a nice energy guy off the bench.

Great news. We need scoring off the bench in some way, shape, or form.

House is decent so I won't cry too much about him being on the team. He can't defend, but he's a great shooter who can go on unstoppable streaks.

Fan favorite is here to stay.

It's a real nice story for house, known as a journeyman, he has found a home here in boston.

now re-sign marbury, get sheed, and we ready to go.

Excellent news.

He knows the system and is a knock-down shooter.

Good work, Eddie.

Possibly, but I'd rather give a multi-year deal to a SG who can defend other wings.
House had $3mil value when he thought he was a PG, but since now it's clear he can't do that, his value as an undersized SG is pretty minimal.

It's not a big deal either way. It's no tlike he's useless of anything. But I wouldn't have shed a tear if he opted out (not that I was expecting him to).

I like him. He is a good influence on bench players. He is very loyal.

We still need a back-up 3.
