R. Wallace wary of C's locker room egos?

Rasheed Wallace’s camp was expecting calls early Wednesday from the Celtics, Cavaliers, and Spurs, among others. Kevin Garnett, a league source confirmed, was working behind the scenes to recruit ‘Sheed to Boston. Wallace’s attitude – which obviously can be both good and bad – and his ability to stretch the front court would be assets to the Cavs in their quest to fortify their pre-draft acquisition of Shaquille O’Neal. Wallace will have to factor in whether anyone comes forward with more than the mid-level exception. He also is said to be wary of the strong egos in the Boston locker room, not to mention the fact that the Rajon Rondo situation needs to be resolved. The Celtics cleared a spot for Wallace by not extending a qualifying offer to power forward Leon Powe, who is coming off major knee surgery and became an unrestricted free agent.

This is bogus. There is no situation with Rondo. Rondo is signed through the season and not going anywhere.
And what egos? KG is the big personality and he and Rasheed are buddies. Pierce and Ray don't strike me as hard to get along with.
Is Gabe Pruitt that scary?

Ken berger blogs. This guy is inferring all of this. Also when somebody says 'not to mention' that means 'I'm adding this because I think it sounds good but I really know nothing about it'

What R. Wallace is referring to when it says, "Rajon Rondo situation needs to be resolved." This just means that Wallace hasn't gotten over getting faked out by Rondo during a game with his trademark ball fake. It had been reported at that time that Wallace was noticeably embarrassed by the young guard's antics. So much so, that he'd vowed to "talk to him" when he gets the chance. I'm uncertain of what Wallace meant, but he isn't talking to no one when Rondo has Garnett and Perkins to back him up. Yeah, that's how he rolls. Rondo's a Don.

I think our whole ego thing gets blown out of sorts. Its like the WWF, there has to be a bad guy, and to most of the league that is us. Pierce has a certain swagger. I could see really not liking him if I had to play and often lose to him. KG runs his mouth but seems to be mostly an act to sike himself up. I think Rondo does have a legit attitude but that is probably a result of being young in in way over his head. Don't get me wrong, I love him and he is doing great but a LOT has been asked of him.
I think this article is BS. Most of the guys on our team seem like genuinely very nice people: KG, Ray, House, Big Baby.

Sheed is gonna love Rondo if he signs here though.

Wallace is talking about melding his dominant personality into a situation that has several dominant personalities. He just is wary that the chemistry won't work.
Rasheed is still a top level talent. The guy can be an all-star any day of the week. I find Rasheed a player that "pitches to the scoreboard."
He is a terrific talent, with length, and can defend the perimeter and blocks shots. He is almost the perfect player for the celtics.
He is more than a role player. Sixth man extraordinaire as a backup F/C. And, if KG ever gets hurt again, he has the talent to move into a starting PF spot and be a high-level replacement.
He probably has 2 years left at a high level and about 4 years left in the NBA.

McHale eventually settled into a sixth man role, right? Wallace could do the same but it all depends on a player's attitude about the transition from starting to coming off the bench. It varies... Wallace just has one of those personalities.
But he doesn't need to feel concern about the veterans or with Rondo or Perkins. They'll all respect him here. They know he's no slouch from a talent standpoint, and has a championship with the Pistons. That's instant credibility among young players.
