Getting Wallace, Hill or Marion would be nice...

But if we end up losing Baby and Leon is it going to come back and bite us in the ass? I don't think either of them will be an All Star, but I am always hesitant about letting promising young players go unnecessarily.

It really isn't unnecessarily though. We can't spend money and/or fill a roster spot for someone who may or may not contribute for sure this year. And we can't spend a crazy amount of money on someone who will see limited time behind Perk, KG, and potentially, Sheed.

I don't like seeing them go either but Danny is making the right decisions IMO.

I will miss Leon though :-?

I just don't see why we need to let them both go. Davis may have played well enough to get more money elsewhere but I don't know why we didn't make the qualifying offer to Leon. I know he wont be able to play much this season but we could have made the offer and then matched any lowball offers or let him walk if the price was too high.

Is getting Marion even remotely possible? Now that the Lakers have agreed to terms with Artest I think we should go after someone a little more athletic/defensive than Hill to guard the 3 and spell Pierce.. just my thought. What do you guys think?

The only way we can one-up the Lakers is to get Wallace and trade expirings for Shane Battier. Given the Rockets' apparent activity in free agency, they seem to be hoping to compete next year.

... Then why would they trade their best healthy player if they are trying to compete next year?

Not following your logic there... unless you mean they are trying to compete to sign the 2010 FA class.

Meaning, we could use Shane Battier but the Rockets aren't going to trade him, unless they strike out completely in free agency, TMac gets hurt, etc.
