OT:Artest signs with Lakers

Post#1 » by greenbeans » Thu Jul 2, 2009 10:57 pm

http://www.cbssports.com

BREAKING NEWSOne-time All-Star forward Ron Artest tells CBSSports.com senior writer Ken Berger he'll be signing with the Lakers. React

That blows. I was holding out hope he'd stay in Houston.

And the rivalry is upping the ante from the crazy angle. LA gets Ron, Bos gets Sheed. June oughta be fun.

Now it's time to get Sheed and regret his decision.

I'm not surprised... It figures... The Lakers must have figured Ariza's price tag is too high. Artest is a good signing for them. He definitely offsets the Spurs' acquisition of R. Jefferson. Probably, triumphs it.

Called it. I could tell Ron was going to the lakers back when Kobe interviewed him for Best Damn Sports show. He was all gushy with kobe. When you respect a player that much, and have a chance to play with him, you take it.

Wiggles nailed it, exciting and scary.

No surprise. But that means Ariza is gone. Definitely an upgrade for the lakers...

Should be a good season next year.

Can't wait until San Antonio bores everyone to sleep and then wins the trophy. It's gonna rule.

Wow.

If the Lakers are able to resign Odom they have chance to be one of the Elite teams in all of NBA history. Kobe, Artest, Gasol, Odom. Geeeeezussss!

It would be really hard to pick anyone team being able to beat that.

So hopefully they lose Odom because if not, they'll march to the Championship.

Great, so the Lakers upgrade from Ariza to Artest. Our frontcourt, healthy + Sheed is still better than theirs, especially if Odom leaves.

The Lakers are basically us if we'd acquired Garnett and been able to do it without trading Al Jefferson. That they acquired Gasol without coughing up Bynum bothered me at the time, but now that they're adding Artest it REALLY bothers me.

Figures. I do not see how they are not favorites to win the title again.
Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

I'm not happy about this--we BETTER be getting Rasheed AND keeping Big Baby---or we are screwed, and the Lakers will win #18 before we do.....I can see it now, Rasheed decides on San Antonio--Ariza signs with Cleveland---We're stuck with Free Agent LEFTOVERS.

Yeah we need to act...

there are clearly 5 elite teams right now as far as im concerned

Cleveland added Shaq, and is likely to get Ariza
Orlando added Vince and still has the MLE
San Antontio got Jefferson and has thier MLE
and the Lakers are adding Artest

we are the only one that hasnt added another impact player to the roster, and we need to
