Gsw-Bos Trade

Ray Allen for Corey Maggette and Stephen Jackson

Why for Boston?
Jackson is a perfect fit. He can hit the outside 3 and can play lockdown D. Maggette fits in really nicely as a very efficient scorer off the bench.

Why for GS?
We need to dump salary and open up room for our young wings.

I think the GS board wants some picks, but I would do this deal straight up.

If you're dumping that much salary and getting the best player, then WE get picks.

Anyway, no.

I think the fact Ray went on that recruiting mission for Sheed pretty much signals he's off the board, barring a Pau-esque offer.

True, unfortunately.

I'd like that if Sheed was a done deal. If we don't get Sheed, I'd rather get a big and a wing for Ray.

we probably could have done a sign and trade for Ben Gordon... the Bulls knew they were going to lose him and they might as well have had Ray for a year before letting him expire or trading him.

Either way, the OP's dela is awful. Maggette is OK... he's suited well comming off the bench but stagnates the offense if he's a starter. SJax is good but isn't a 2 and plays the same position as Pierce.

Maggette. No thanks. Would love to get our hands on Steven Jackson. How bout a big baby sign and trade, with Tony Allen? No? Never? Probably not. Well, hm.

Are we still talking about the celtics? What young wings do we have that we need big money for?

Not unless Randolph is coming the C's way as well.

Absurd. GS cannot give Maggette away, and Jax has only a slight bit of value. Those dudes are owed like $70 million over the next four years. If the Cs ever took these crazy deals on for Ray Allen we would need Anthony Randolph and at least one unprotected no. 1 pick. Sorry GS, you are stuck with those cap-killing deals for awhile.

I actually wouldn't mind Stephen Jackson. Just a big hello no to Cory Maggette at that salary.

Scal/TA/Giddens for either Maggette or SJax saves the Warriors a ton of money.

Re: the original trade, the GS board is high. Allen's not going to GS unless Ellis or Biedrins comes back.

Hell yes to that deal then resign Marbury and Rondo and enjoy the championships/lux tax hell
Rondo/Marbury
Allen/Maggette/Marbury
Pierce/Maggette
Garnett/Wallace/Davis
Perkins/Wallace/Davis

Rondo, Marbury, Maggette, Wallace is a lot of combustibility to keep on/add to the roster..

Maggette duplicates too many of the things Paul does, just not as well. And he is hurt more. Makes no sense for the Celts.
