One Man's Opinion: Sheed Going to Orlando?

This is just OP but Sheed is going to end up playing with Orlando. Orlando has a lot more to offer this Boston has. 1. Weather is great there all year around. 2. Sheed has a large family and I'm sure his wife and all this sons would love to live in Orlando over Boston. 3. Orlando has a good of chance of going to the finals as Boston. 4. NO State Tax in FL. 5. Sheed is flying down to Orlando next week. That can't be a good sign, it took Danny and the Big Three to go see him in Michigan but Sheed is flying down to Orlando.

I edited your title because it is quite misleading. canman

Subject line makes it sound like news

Thread title is misleading..
If anything, not signing him is definitely not the end. However it has become very time consuming but then again this is a business and patience is required. He's realistically looking at his options and has a right to do so. Doesn't mean he's any more likely to sign with Orlando.

can this be locked or appropriately titled?

also, i dont think your opinion is right. orlando does not have as good a chance as boston. orlando could not beat us at full strength, and now they lost hedo who basically ran the offense when jameer was hurt and was responsible for most of howards offense off the pick and roll. its not like they have a starting spot available. also, wiretap says they "might" meet. sheeds agent had rave reviews for the meeting with the Cs diplomatic troupe, and says sheed and his wife were very impressed and that he felt sheed would be a great fit here.

but i guess sheeds agents opinion isnt as important as yours?

We have this:

I spoke with Bill Stickland, the agent for Rasheed Wallace moments ago . He told me…

Danny Ainge wanted to show up on Rasheed’s doorstep Wed. Night at midnight…which is when the free agent signing period began. Wallace told Danny that was not necessary so team green flew out Thursday instead.

Danny, Coach Doc Rivers, managing partner Wyc Grousbeck along with KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce were in the meeting with Strickland, Rasheed and his wife Fatima. Without question the Celtics increased their chances of obtaining Rasheed by making this trip. The effort put forth by the Celtics impressed Rasheed, Fatima and Strickland.

The fact that Rasheed has never played on a team with the likes of KG, Paul and Ray works in favor of the Celtics.

Fatima and Rasheed will make this decision together. She is very important in this process. Civil activities are very important to her. Ray Allen, because of his work with juvenile diabetes, was able to connect with her on this matter.

The way Doc handled the three egos of the big three has not gone unnoticed by Rasheed. Doc is well respected by players throughout the NBA.

Despite his reputation in Boston Rasheed is an unselfish teammate and would fit great with the big three.

Rasheed would be visiting other clubs today but wanted to spend time with his family. He will travel next week. Other teams in play are Orlando, San Antonio and Dallas. It is not just about the money. The team has to have a realistic chance at a championship. The Lakers were in the hunt until they signed Ron Artest. He did visit Dallas last week but it was not regarding a basketball matter.

He's been playing in Detroit for a while now, I'm not sure if weather is really going to effect his decision. Think about all the winter clothes he'll have to throw away.I also don't think no state tax will sway his decision either. He might be able to get more money and a starting spot in Orlando, but a lot of what you wrote kind of seems like a stretch.

Please change the title. As much as you like to think you know for sure, you don't.

edit: Thanks canman.
And if Orlando is so great, how come all the fa's, from every sport don't go down there? Because the place is a dump, that's why.

If I didn't spend that extra minute on the off topic board, I would have seen the title and been pissed. Good timing Canman! :D

That's your opinion, and you have a right to it. I am worried, but I think he's just shopping himself around. Hell this is probably the last decent contract he is gonna get. He's taking his time.

Sheed has a bigger opportunity to get much more playing time with Orlando and SA than he does here. In Boston, he's the first big off the bench. In SA and ORL, he's the starting PF and playing heavy minutes.

If Boston gets him, Sheed comes off the bench. He won't start over KG or Perk. The only way he would start is if KG or Perk gets injured:
Rondo
Ray
Paul
KG
Perk

If SA gets him, Sheed starts:
Parker
Manu/Mason Jr.
RJ
Sheed
Duncan

If ORL gets him, Sheed starts:
Nelson
Vince
Rashard
Sheed
Howard

HOPEFULLY he wants to play with KG though. I remember the big deal in the ECF 2 years ago when KG & Sheed would hug for like a minute prior to tipoff. If they are such great pals, don't you think that would be one of the biggest factors in helping sheed make his decision? I think his wife is leaning elsewhere ;-)

lol, please... For being a small market team Orlando has no problem attracting free agents. Remember the year the Magic got the top 3 free agents to agree to come down here? Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady and Duncan. Many people don't remember this but Duncan did agree to sign here then last minute Robinson cut his vacation short to come down here and sway him back.

BTW, I think your full of it if you don't think the Magic have as good of a shot as you guys. There are 3 tiers in the NBA.
Tier 1, Lakers
Tier 2, Magic, Boston, Cavs, Denver, Spurs
Tier 3, Everyone else
