The Magic have contacted free-agent forward Rasheed Wallace's agent.

Orlando general manager Otis Smith was in contact with agent Bill Strickland on Friday, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Wallace doesn't have a plan to visit Orlando, but Smith said that "it was possible" at some point. The general manager believes that Wallace would be a nice "fit" alongside Dwight Howard, but said "it just depends on what Rasheed wants to do."

I think you'll be able to find Gary Tanguays head on a spike somewhere in Quincy one of these days.

Nope. I already called Tanguay's head..it's going to be floating inside a bag on the Charles River one of these days..so people better back off..

Anyways, this doesn't mean much to me. The Magic contacted him??Cool..didn't Boston do the same? Yet we actually took our whole roster to his house, along with our coach, owners, GM, mascot and fanbase. I'd have to say were winning..Personal Visit from Celtic nation>>>>Phone Call IMO. :)

Free agency couldn't have started any worse.

Couldn't agree anymore..
Anyone think it would be possible to split the MLE on Dice and Hill & use the LLE to target someone else that fits another need? We also have some expirings that we can take some advantage of.

Relax boys. Sheed is a FA. Of course he'll be contacted by other teams.

The only thing that surprises me about this, is that it's actually considered noteworthy enough to report. Wouldn't Wallace's agent have been contacted by at least a dozen teams?

I'm sure there is a point of players announcing that they're going to take MLE contracts before they can sign them, I just can't come up with that reason. It's just part of the process, any player who might get a larger offer from a contender SHOULD be taking phone calls. No big deal IMO.

What makes me think negatively here is that they MIGHT not have let Turk go if they had a clue that Rasheed was a doable situation.

I was for signing McDyess instead, but I've this feeling that he would like to remain in Detroit (again). Thus, I support the addition of R. Wallace to Boston. Hopefully, a decision comes on Monday. In my opinion, his decision is either to sign with Boston or San Antonio. For some reason, I've a good feeling it won't be Orlando. It depends. Some of these name players like the idea that they're that team's "big signing." That label would apply to Wallace if he chooses Boston or San Antonio. However, if he were to choose Orlando, he'll share the headlines all summer with V. Carter who's a Florida native. But, again, it depends on the individual. Wallace might feel indifferently to where he isn't bothered by headlines or whatever. He probably wouldn't even care.

Do you think the Celts are so desperate that they sweeten the deal by telling Wallace he can start at center, pushing Perk to the second unit, with each playing 30 minutes at the 4 or 5?

Absolutely not. That would be nothing more than a slap to the face of Perkins who has done an outstanding job. Either way Sheed will get starter minutes at the 4&5 30mpg coming off the bench.

Ron Artest meeting up with Kobe in the shower room after the game = gay. No wonder he took a sweetheart discount to sign with you guys.

Kobe said that after the Lakers lost game six of the '08 NBA Finals in Boston by 39 points, he was alone in the shower, just fuming. He heard somebody walk in and assumed it was one of his teammates, or maybe a staff member. Instead, he looked up, and it was Ron Artest (to this day, Kobe has no idea how Artest got into the locker room).
