As Ainge puts it:

We have this two year window for championships. How long do we wait on Sheed to make a decision? While other teams are talking with free agents we are waiting on Sheed. I hope hidden in Sheed's agent's statement today that he was going to visit other teams but wanted to spend time with his family means that he is making his decision about playing here. I believe if he decides to meet with other teams we are going to look elsewhere.
We can't afford to sit on our hands with this short window period we have, as there are some very good free agents out there that can help us win it. I hope Danny is still working the phones and doesn't play the wait game on Sheed, and I hope Sheed can understand our situation.

I'd give it till the 8th to start griping about this. Sure we're sitting on our hands, but Danny is probably lighting the fireworks at Shawn Marion's house and having Perk give his kids piggy back rides.
Danny is doing his job <--- that's an understatement.

I'll give sheed till Monday to make up his mind and pull it off the table if he hasn't decided by then. After going all out taking a private jet to see him and with Wyc to the Big Three giving it their all there should be no need to have to travel to the other cities to have discussions. I'm sure that he is mulling this over as he could have traveled Friday to meet with the other teams, but I believe he wants to come here and needed the weekend to discuss it with his wife.
Sheed already knows what the makeup of the other teams are and can figure out where he fits with each team. If he has to meet with the other teams then it is by his wife's not liking Boston or what it has to offer, which is fine if that is what makes up his decision.
I am all in the Marion camp and believe he could actually be the better fit if we are going to re-sign Davis. Marion fills two holes for this team and would allow us to take a flier on Swift or Sweetney, or both. I think from there Ainge may bring in one of the guys we already have on the summer league team or a vet like Lue in case of an injury to Rondo.
Bottom line is we can't be out there hanging for this one free agent when there are good ones still there that need the attention. I would much rather have a guy come in that really wants to play here, not one that has to put this team as a choice.

Ainge is waiting for no one, he is going after as many players as there are available (who can improve Cs ofc). Naturally he has priorities, but he absolutely doesnt sit calmly waiting for Sheed to respond, he drops the net, nice bait, and wait which fish will hook

everyone needs to chill out. You have to view all this in perspective. the 4/5 is one spot we need help. We are already looking at hill and probably others to fill other areas of need while we wait on Sheed. Also the next best option for a big, McDyce, has said he wil wait to make up his mind. Pull the offer off the table? I am glad you are not running this team. Sheed has to make a choice on a multi year multi million dollar deal, its only fair that he wants to see all his options. As long as we keep a pulse on McDyce we are ok. If McD wants to sign here and says it has to be right now, that would be one thing but that is not the situation.

I'd love to see that in person. I like to picture that their at a stripclub and Marion is putting twenties in a strippers thong. Then Scala comes out next on stage subbing for one of the strippers who has the flu.

I'm pretty sure Danny's guessing one of Fazekas, Swift or Sweetney to show up from summer league as a reasonable 10-12th man on the roster, so Sheed or another MLE will be the 'quality' bench big, Baby good to have as well. What happens to Scal if they add Sheed, Baby and one of the bigs from SL? Do they try to run him down to a backup 3-spot fit and trim? That's a problem Danny'd be glad to have.
