Toronto Is Trying To Do Some Sign and Trades with Marion

Now that we used the full MLE on Rasheed we should try and trade for Marion. According to the article Toronto is trying to do some sign and trades with Marion, Parker, or Delfino instead of just renouncing their rights. We could offer them Tony Allen, Scal, and Pruitt or do a sign and trade with Big Baby. It is being said that Baby might go to the Spurs anyway so either way we might lose him.

If we get Marion, maybe we can offer the 1.9 Mil bi-annual exception to Gooden to replace Baby and offer the 1.3 LLE to a backup PG. Then our bench would be solidified.

our backups would be:

PG-?
SG-House
SF-Marion
PF-Gooden
C-Sheed

With Marion, Eddie, and Rasheed as our backups, I could care less if we played lester at the SG, and re-signed Mikki Moore. That would be a sick bench.

I can't see us doing a sign and trade with toronto unless it got us parker though.

We should s&t Davis to San Antonio and get Bonner back. Bring the red head home.

Just imagine, Garnett, Perk and Sheed starting out, then we hit em with two red heads to put em away. We'll be unstoppable.
Bring him home!

With Dave Cowens as honorary position coach?

They need to renounce those guys if there signing Turk-a-Glue. They can't take any contracts back if they want to have the cap space to sign Hedo.

I would love to have Marion on the team, but it's sounding more and more unlikely. Also about Bonner, we have enough redheads as it is.

With that bench, the C's just might inspire the inauguration of the 'Seventh Man' award.

Jesus, completely forgot about Swift. 3 redheads on the same team is almost testing fate.

A sign and trade for Big Baby would require Glen wanting to go to Toronto.

I guess our expirings could equal Marion, but expiring's in and of themselves wouldn't make Toronto do a deal. Maybe if we threw in a decent pick, but they might be able to do better. Not sure how things would work with renouncing and clearing space for Hedo either.

Dallas and Toronto may do a sign-n-trade. Stackhouse and picks.

I'm not sure if there is any way we can get him here but that would be HUGE.

Also, why would Toronto be interested in Stackhouse's expiring??? Just to flip it at a later date for value??? Because it saves them no money. They either let the money expire that they were paying Marion, or do a sign and trade and bring money back. I guess they would just hold Stack's contract til near the deadline and move it for a player.

Think i read if Stack is bought out by a certain date they save something like 4 mil... i could be wrong

in which case he would hit the market and wouldnt be bad for depth

Yep, only a couple mil of Stackhouses's deal is guaranteed.

But they would have to buy him out, so that cost them something. Does the deal being discussed with Dallas involve something of value for Toronto? Wouldnt just letting Marion go cost them less than a sign and trade for Stack + a buyout??
