Bos/Mil Trade idea

Personally, I think that Charlie Bell would be a great fit here. He is actually a combo guard who can play some minutes at the one spot without making an ass out of himself, who is a good shooter and a solid defender. Well, the Bucks also have Kurt Thomas, received as part of the Jefferson trade.

Why not do a deal sending them Scal, Tony and Eddie to get these two? 3 expirings, and we could get a combo guard for the back court who could actually PLAY for us, and get a solid fourth big man who is a vet? I think that would satisfy Doc's wishes, and I think that Bell and Thomas would really like to get the hell out of there. Thomas is an expiring, but this would also clear Bell's money for them for the free agent bonanza next season. It isn't as if this deal wouldn't supply them with any replacements, and we could even throw in a future second rounder, or one of our younguns.

I don't think this deal is far fetched, and it would make solid basketball sense for both teams. Milwaukee clears even more space and gets rid of two guys who do not want to be there. We get two guys who would be solid rotation players for us.

Interesting trade.

I don't think the trade benefits either team very much in the way of concrete upgrades.

House is a boom or bust type of player, same for Tony. Scal is a solid piece who we know can be servicable.

Bell, from what I understand is a pretty solid defender at the SG spot, not sure how he defends against big time scorers or quick PG's but he's certainly an upgrade from House. Offensively, I don't think he really brings a ton but he's seems like a decent ball handler and shooter. Thomas certainly brings veteran savvy and toughness which is great though I'm not sure how much gas he has left in the tank.

For some reason though, I just don't see the Celtics making any moves unless there it's a clear win talent-wise for a player that Ainge and Co. covet. Not sure that Bell or Thomas fit that bill but this is the type of deal that could improve the team.

It isn't that I think that Bell is great. He isn't. He is useful, though. A real combo guard who can swing between the two positions. He's a better two, of course, but he can do the job at the one against second units. He has a good assist to turnover ration for a combo guard, and he is a good shooter. Not as good as Eddie, but then again Eddie has serious issues getting his shot off at times, and Bell's superior length and athleticism makes that less of an issue. Not a great athlete, just a better one than Eddie.

Thomas is old, but he only has one year left on his deal. In this scenario we take 1 guy who we regualrly use and convert him into TWO guys we can regularly use. Thomas still has enough left in the tank to play the 12 minutes a game which would be asked of him during the regular season, and is WAY better than a guy like Mikki Moore. It is about concentrating talent and contracts into guys who actually play games. The best part is that I think Scal could very well get cut, and then we would welcome him back at a vet min salary. Milwaukee knows that they aren't going anywhere this season, which is why they showed Jefferson the door. I think that they would do this deal. I think that we would too. It just makes sense. It certainly would solve our depth problem at the 4/5 spots, as Thomas is also fully capable of playing minutes atthe 5. That would give us 3 guys who could hold down the center spot next o KG.

Ehh nah I'd rather keep Eddie. He might not be as atheletic as Bell, but he can change a game, and fire up the crowd with a couple 3's..I don't like Thomas either..

I'd probably do the trade, don't get me wrong. I just think that the organization probably looks at Eddie, Tony, Scal a little differently than a lot of fans do and I'm not sure that they hold Bell/Thomas in high enough regard to risk stirring up team chemistry and the like.

Nah, no thanks. I can't see Bell as any kind of an upgrade. TA is still our best wing defender, and Scal is useful as a 4th or 5th big (hopefully 5th). Kurt is actually decent but he is in severe decline.

I like the idea of packaging those guys for a trade, but I think we can do better than Bell and Thomas. No need to blow our trading chips on that.

House just resigned here, why would we trade him? That wouldn't make us look good to future FAs.

House and tyron lue might be the smallest guard tandem in the league. Honestly I think it's a problem. I wonder if Danny really wanted Eddie to stay. I suspect Eddie, like a bunch of other FA's realized the market wasn't as great as he thought. Marbury still hasn't gotten that. Lue may also be a smoke screen to get Marbury to accept the offer they made. I'd rather have marbury than Lue any day

House didn't "resign here", he exercised an option on his contract. There's a difference.

Tony is unusable. Saying that he's "our best wing defender' which I don't agree with anyways, doesn't mean much when he is unreliable on the court. The whole patchwork quilt way of assembling a team is useless, IMO. Have guys who are USEFUL.
