"Magic general manager Otis Smith said Wallace will strengthen the Celtics."

“They’re a pretty good team as it stands,’’ Smith said. “We still have to go through them - they’re the last team in the East to win the championship, so we have to go through them to win it.’’

Hey he said it.....don't blame me.......

As the defending EC champion the road to title leads through ORL, so the pressure is on them...

Well, my guess is that since an injury strucken Celtics team took them to 7 games, he feels that with KG healthy, the Celtics are still the best team in the Eastern Conference, and until the Celtics (with KG healthy) are beaten in a 7 game series, they are still the favorites ... Justa guess

Even if no one else thinks so, the pressure is always on us. We are still the team to beat. No one has beaten us when mostly healthy in a series sense we got KG and we killed LA in game 6 last time around. Deep down I think everyone knows this. Though if I posted it on the general board there would be 10 pages of hate in a day.

Exactly! I've had friends who are diehard Laker fans even admit to me that the championship felt a bit hollow. When KG went down whomever won this year was gonna have to deal with the whole ""but if KG was healthy.." talk, due to the fact that we were the defending champs and were still a dominant team at the time (best or second best record at the time if I remember correctly).

Regardless of what anybody says I'm sure the Lakers (and their fans) still have a pretty decent sized chip on their shoulder, knowing they didn't have to god through the best to win a championship (let alone the break they caught when Yao broke his foot in the middle of the series). Lets hope somebody over in LA (or in ORL for that matter) says something stupid to piss off the real champs, because you know we're coming out for blood in 09/10.
