I don't know anything about this guy, but it says they are interested in one of the headlines.

It's on the wiretap.

Miles was one of the last HS players. He is entering his 5th year in the league. He has definitely improved his 3pt shooting since he came into the league. I remember he was pretty athletic and had good size for SF. I actually like him more than Outlaw.

can't say I've ever seen the guy do anything memorable. I like parker over him but Parker makes $4.5M.

I actually watched a handfull of Utah games this season and I like this kid a lot. He is a lefty which is always good to have on your team and is extremely athletic. He can shoot it from deep and put it on the floor. I would love to find a way to get this guy.

He would be good to have. It would take slightly more than Tony Allen's salary to get him. Tony and Gabe? Tony and the loser of the Walker/Giddens contest?

Tony & Gabe for Miles would work. Love for the Celtics to do this but I'm not sure why Utah would.

I really wonder about these articles sometimes.

Danny Ainge : "Hi Kevin. How about you give us your young and improving $3.7 mil a year starting SF, and we'll give you Scalabrine."

(giggles ensue)

Kevin O'Connor : "Thanks Danny, no matter how often you tell me that joke I still get a good laugh out of it."

Salt Lake Tribune : "Reports are that the Boston Celtics have contacted the Utah Jazz about CJ Miles."

Yeah, they wouldn't. But Walker or Giddens might have caught their eye yesterday. It still seems like Utah would refuse that too though.

He is definitely better than Tony, and he is probably better (at least right now) than Giddens and Walker. His numbers in limited minutes have always been pretty good

Coming out of HS he was supposed to be the next Ray Allen............. why not let him learn from Jesus.

I watched him play, but I guess I never really watched close enough to analyze it. He has good size it appears, and his stats are impressive for what they expect of him. He had acouple 20+ point games last yr. How consistent is his jump shot?

He's young (22), athletic, versatile. Not a real good player just yet, but a quality enough player with good upside. Has yet to show anything too special from beyond the arc, but is similar to Delonte in that he has always been said to be his team's best practice shooter. He is said to have a good character, doesn't turn the ball over too much, and could be capable of playing some back-up PG.

With the acquisition of Rip and with Korver sticking around, he is very expendable and the Jazz will potentially be looking to cut salary for coming seasons. He'd be a good pick up if cheap.

If he's not part of the Jazz plan then we might be able to land him. He has two years on his contract and we could give Utah some young talent to replace him. Maybe they'd be interested in Walker, Giddens, or Pruitt. I'd hate to give up on Walker or Giddens, but the fact is that CJ is only 22 but has 4 years of NBA experience. He'd be a more reliable backup guard than just about anyone we already have, so the C's need to do something to get a little help. This isn't a great move, but he could be a decent backup for Ray and maybe CJ will even surprise people.

From little I've seen from him, I really like his ability. If we can't land Hill, I'd like him as part of our plan B.

In other news, sources close to Lebron James are now reporting that the report by sources close to Lebron James indicating he told Ariza he would be resigning with Cleveland are incorrect.

Gotta love the un-named source.

I'd hope to get Hill and then get Miles as well, maybe in exchange for TA + Walker/Giddens.
I haven't seen much of Miles but he seems like a young improving player.

I was thinking the same thing. Miles could back up Ray and Hill back up Pierce. We'd have to move 2 of the 3 players you mention.

lety's break it down:

He's 22 years old

Can shoot the three

Is athletic

Is 6'6"

Is already a decent defender who could develop into a great one

Started 72 games for one of the best teams in the Western Conference

Is available....

And we are NOT going to want this guys here? I read some stupid crap over on Celticsblog where people wouldn't ant to deal Giddens or Walker for him. WOW!!!! You have to be kidding me. This guy is way beyond them, and two years younger than Giddens to boot.

If this kid is available, why not get him no matter who else we get? Seriously? If Hill signs, what is to stop us from still adding Miles? In fact, why even bother with Hill to begin with. Just use that money on someone more useful like Barnes, anyways? Maybe they are open to a sign and trade for Big Baby? Miles and Barnes coming off the bench for us? That's my idea of fleixbility and utility. Miles plays the 2 and 3 spots, Barnes the 3 and 4. Both can bomb three pointers. Both can run the floor. Both can eat up serious minutes behind Paul and Ray. Both can defend. Both aren't old, over the hill, former stars. They actually have value.

We could still do a deal which used our other contracts in to bring in a quality combo guard, and 4th true big man, like the one I proposed with Milwaukee. Actual bench depth and quality? Yeah, who needs that? I didn't even realize that this guy was to be had. Man, if we can get him, then get him!!!
