The New York Knicks have offered forward Grant Hill a one-year contract worth a portion of the team’s mid-level exception, the New York Post reports.

ps...The paper also reports the Phoenix Suns, with whom Hill has played the last two seasons, refuse to enter into a bidding war with the Knicks for Hill.

Seems exclusively like a move to keep him from Boston. I don't get why they'd care, it's not like they'd be competing either way.

What is Grant thinking? Is he trying to play the contenders for more money?

Yeah, NY is a great city but that team is not contending for a title this year. I would think the 36yo Hill would be all about getting a ring.

No it's cause Dantoni likes him. And Hill is interested. His wife is a singer. And he has a couple off the court things set up in new york. It's not about the team, as much as it is the city.

C'mon Grant. Wait two years, win a ring or two, then go buy a freaking penthouse in Manhattan and you and your wife can live happily ever after.

Yup. Exact same thing I was thinking. And for the record - Tamia is hot. Could never figure out why she didn't achieve mainstream success. Girl has the looks and the talent to succeed. Go figure.

Silly. Boston and NYC is a drive. For a singer, she could take a limo (not the stretch, but a town car) round trip if she wanted. This is not a big deal. Besides, music industry is out in LA unless she is a rapper.

I'm not sure this is a big thing - just because you're offered a contract doesn't mean you're obligated to sign it.

Speaking of wives. Fatima played a huge role in Rasheed signing in Boston. According to Chris Mannix on EEI yesterday.

I don't think they would have gone to the trouble of offering a deal if they didn't think he would accept it. I think HIll signs with the Knicks. Maybe he would rather be the man on a rebuilding team than come off the bench for a contender. Not everyone has the same priorities although one would think that at this stage of his career winning a title would mean something. He seems more interested in his lifestyle and that of his wife than a title . He'll get more dough too.

Well he hasn't accepted it yet. Does anyone know if we have made an offer?
