The deal, according to NBA front-office sources, would span five seasons starting in 2010-11 and earn Bargnani an estimated $50 million.

Further evidence that Rondos 50 mil - 5 year deal seems reasonable, though this could work to drive that price up.

Yeah, I could only imagine what Rondo would think if Bargs got 50 million.

^^^ Oh the market might pay Rondo 12 million per. But I just hope the C's are doing that. Its not that's Rondo's salary is out of whack - its that the market is stupid. You sink 6x the price of an okay PG into one PG and you don't get a dominating NBA player. You get a marginally better PG..

You should sink your teams money into PFs and dynamic swingmen. That's how you win championships.

The media should ask Danny what he thinks of that deal...

Ben Gordon, the next generation of Ray Allen, just got signed to a similar deal. Gordon >>> Bargs. Rondo should receive a similar contract worth around the same money.

Bargnani had himself a nice season. I like him. In the second half of the season, once Jermaine Oneal was traded he averaged 20 ppg, 1.7 blocks, shot 49.3% from the feild, 45.7% from the 3.

He still is not rebounding much averaging just above 5 a game.

I like Bargs alot i think this is a deserving contract based on his skills, potential, and his past play.

Alot better than Eric Dampier!

That's too much IMO, but Bargnani isn't the stiff you all think. He's big and has a nice shooting touch. Can't rebound for his though. But all in all, he's not a bad player. Just not a $50 million guy, but the extension doesn't kick in for another year, so we'll see how much he improves.

What is crazy is how much the toronto board likes it. There were pretty good reasons Toronto was terrible at the end of the year including there center being capable of only 5-7 rebounds max.

This one, by far. Varejao is actually a good player.

So is Bargnani. You just have never seen him play. He's no allstar, but he's had games where he was the best player in the game. He's just very inconsistent, but by all means, the talent is definitely there.
